Will 4500k MH work ok for vegging?

I'm using this Eye MH conversion bulb in my hps ballast, and I think I got the wrong color for vegging? Don't I want closer to 6k daylight?

it will work fine, i was worried when i bought my 1000w mh, its 3700k. would have preferred one with a higher color temp but my plants grow like a mofo under that thing so don't worry about it

You do, yes, but that bulb would work fine as a balance between warm white and cool white color temps. That's a bit closer to a Ceramic Metal Halide bulb, which has better overall light balance.

Though I'm worried about your bulb life, there. 7500 hours isn't that good for an HID.

Yeah the guy at the grow store just handed it to me, didn't find the details out until I got him.
