Nope lol.. nothing is safe over public (unsecured) Wifi.. In a sense that the router's IP is not associated to you in any way, the likelihood of you getting caught is slim, someone would have to be on the same network at the exact same time as you are posting pics to see what you are doing. If you don't have a choice other than to use public Wifi, use a proxy service like Tor with HTTPS so your traffic is encrypted.

There is also a risk you take exposing your computer's IP.. there are two types of IP addresses, public and internal. Public IPs are what routers use to identify the network they are on, which servers open to port 80 (websites) see when you visit them, public IPs can either be dynamic (change often) or static (don't change at all). An internal IP is somewhat like what a VIN number is to a car, it's basically your computer's footprint that does not change, the only way to change it is to buy a new computer, you can also try to mask it by using a virtual machine. Your internal IP is only visible to the router your connecting to, not anything on port 80.

So if someone is monitoring the public network your on, they have access to your internal IP and could theoretically pinpoint your location while your connected, however f your traffic is encrypted, they have no reason to.

Short and long of it.. if you gotta use public Wifi, encrypt your traffic :weed:
