Why wait to harvest

Got some plants that are 8 weeks flowering, strain is 8-10 weeks. Looked through my loupe tonight and all the trichs are cloudy but no ambers . Would like to know if people would chop now or wait for some ambers. Flushing now.
 
If it`s personal use,..take what ya need for now and let the rest grow and be stoned while you wait !! It don`t hurt to snip a bud here and there !!
 
if your in flush then do what you got to do!!!!!
it'll still be better than the shit we buy on the streets!
there are no laws set in stone!!! the need to get high is well, we all know the need!
when i first started about 18 years ago i smoked some early fresh shit and regretted it but so what we learn...
and when i was in prison 20 years ago my brother used to smuggle me the leaves off of my plant from home.....i was only19-20 and didnt even know that you had to switch from 18/6 12/12? anyway me and my mate still got high off the leaves? those were not the days!!! lol

you waited this long. Id wait for at least some amber to make sure the plant is fully mature.
 
You know what I realized? Don't be afraid to experiment and "mess up" if that's what you can even call it. Once I finally let go of fearing that I was somehow going to ruin the whole grow (and I did have a few failed attempts but it wasn't the end of the world), I wasn't so stressed a/b it all. I know we all want that perfect smoke, but the worst that could happen is the quality of your high isn't quite as good and then you will have just added to your own knowledge and experience for next time. I say harvest some of it, dry/cure properly and compare it to the rest of it that you waited longer on. Then you'll know for sure what you prefer. Either way, you'll probably get high.
 
Why wait? increased quality, and weight. I like to wait until almost every pistil has turned, just my preference.
 
Not all strains will Amber , some Sativas and Sat Dom Hybrids often wont amber untill cured .. But what do I know , I skip the myth of harvesting by trichomes .. I tend to await till the signs of a ripe plant appear as the plants always let us know when they are done with the bloom ......

Going by the Myths I would always have fucked up weed .. As I dont tend to like Amber trichomes . I preffer a strain to be as intended by nature and perfectly ripe.. As well I dont like rotten brown Bananas lol ...........PotSnob
 
Take a loupe and look at dispensary weed.. I like amber for pain but our local dispensary has almost no amber.
 
its personal preference, but i would let it go longer.. she will only reward your time waiting with bigger buds, increased oils and all together a better product which in turns makes a happier grower... take a bud now and let it finish :)

You've left it too long...for my tastes. ;-)

All about personal preference.
 
I am sure not all the trichs are cloudy if you have no amber. Dispensary buds are grown by profit motivated slobs who will chop at the earliest they can, thus no amber.

I always have some clear trichs even after the amber shows up. Some like to take them early and most want some amber, you have to make that call.

Finally someone who understands that trichomes are very inconsistent. The vary from plant to plant. They way they ripen. :clap:
 
I go by both. the plant will tell you when its done. Id check the trichs just to insure ready....but then again some dont ever show brown. Waiting the extra days/week will help yields.

mostly cloudy is a beautiful high. lots of amber, not so much. IMO of course. i'm a sativa lover.

i've cut them at all clear, clear/cloudy, mostly cloudy, cloudy/amber. hands down my favorite is mostly cloudy.
