Why not MG?

:bigjoint:I have learned a lot of good information here (Thanks to all). I'm just wondering though, why do some people not recommend MG? I'm growing all my plants (2 brain storm & 4 sour diesel) in MG soil. I've been using MG 20-20-20 fertilizer & I have to tell you guys...They look big, happy & healthy. They are looking very luscious & green. No discolorations, burning , or wilting. So I'm wondering what the deal is that a lot of people are very anti MG. This is my first grow BTW.

There is nothing wrong with MG soil, MG nutes...the issue is its the easiest soil/nutrients to find in the US...so alot of new growers don't understand YOU DONT WATER THE SHIT OUT OF IT RELEASING ALL THE TIME RELEASE NUTES AT ONCE...so....they burn their plants to death and wonder why...

When used properly, MG soil works just as well as any other potting mix...and nutes are nutes...N,P,K,micro,macro :)

A whole niche of people have bad opinions on mg but I use as do a bunch of others. I would liken it to how some people have to have their clothes from A&F while others are fine with Wal-Mart stuff ya know. It's a pride thing imo.

ok so lets see if I got this right. Nothing wrong with MG. Just people getting excited & over watering therefore over feeding nutes that are in the soil. Makes sense. One of the first things I learned as I did my research before starting my grow is that MJ doesn't like to be or sit in water. Thanks for the info. guys.

I have used MG liquid with 12-4-8 and a little of the blue crystal 15-30-15 with great results. However I was leary of their soil so I have spent more money there buying roots and mixing SS which works real well.

However My neighbor who I taught how to grow is tighter then I am and he used MG moisture control. He transplant into a five gallon bucket, puts them in flower and they take off like a big ol dog. They grow tall, bushy with green leaves, almost too green and it lasts almost all the way through flower.

I thought it was a fluke the first time but Im sold now. Pricewise, its great deal

I should add you cant use MG moisture control on seedlings or clones. Its too hot

It also holds on to "moisture" too long for cannabis root systems...it can be used for seedlings/clones..it just needs a fuckton of perlite mixed into it to counteract the "moisture" control part ;)

yeah, one of the things I read was to "never" use time release moisture. I'm using MG potting mix soil with about 40% Perlite. For the veg. state I'm using MG Garden Pro water soluble all purpose plant food 20-20-20 once every 2 weeks. I started the seedling with MG Quick Start planting & transplanting solution 4-12-4. For the flowering stage I will use MG water soluble Bloom Booster Flower Food 15-30-15. Like boneheadbob said "they are almost too green" so I think I'm doing something right.

Unless you're a hippie inept whoaboard sthe activist bandwagon, there's nothing wrong with MG nutes and soils.

I also wouldn't doubt some of the "negative" comments regarding MG coming from people posting that work for nutrient companies to get people to not use MG and use their expensive shit in a bottle :D

the last thing I want is support Monsanto ... even if people were growing 10lbs trees with MG I wouldnt touch it!

I used mg soil when I first started growing... The ticket is the watering teqnique used.... Only water when absolutely needed to keep from burning... The downside for me was the bugs... Mainly Fungus knats(annoying little bastards..lol)...

For the price it sure does its job. I think its kinda nice not having to spend an ARM and a leg on at least one thing lol everything else is so damn expensive already. I'm sure other soils have positive results I just don't get why people are so against mg. It seems to do fine. As for chemicals, look at your deoderant look at the milk we drink look at the smog we breathe in. I'm always open to new ideas but fear mongering is for nazis and sheep. It's utterly unnessecary here.

lol what gets me is when one asks a question then somebody who "thinks" they're the know it all thinks he's helping by answering a question with "another" question. I don't understand why if they don't have any help or advice, they feel that their -2cents is necessary.:finger:
