Why no pollen sellers?

Seems to me that if you could vaccuum pack pollen in glass vials.. it would be a huge market. Why has no one attempted to sell connesuire male plant pollen?

Interesting question. Never thought of that before. I like it. Just don't know how long pollen stays viable after it is harvested. I look forward to others answers.

as a business you want to insure quality if u can do that then every one and there mother will buy from you.

Giving female seeds is totally different. If they give u pollen with elite genetics people will make their own awesome strains, people who want to make money will then sell their seeds, thus making more competition, thus meaning less money in their pocket.

If subcool started giving away his elite males pollen any amateur breeder can go buy a clone, put the pollen on it and probably end up with a awesome new strain.

As a average joe that'd be awesome to get pollen and make my own killer strains but in business perspective its simply retarded.

we do this anyways with regular seeds.. so the point is invalid.

pollen loses it's viability very easily too. once it's thawed, it shouldn't be re frozen and both heat and humidity can destroy viability.

it's easy enough to just select males from regulars yourself. if you really wanted to get serious about it, you'd even test your males from whatever strain you're starting a strain from before selecting your breeder.

When you buy regular seeds online there is NO guarantee on what you'll get and what kind of genetics the males you get will have. To go online, buy regular seeds and try to breed you'll need to buy a hell of a lot of seeds to find a good male to breed. At least a couple hundred bucks worth if your trying to do it right. And I'm 100% that'll be more $$ for the breeder then selling pollen. Plus he keeps his prize male genes to himself.

Buy seeds from real breeders who work their strains and use one of their males to breed with. Good males aren't as elusive as you think, not any more than good females.

makes sense.

Right, but the traits desired in a male might not be as easy for most growers to identify. With females you can grow them out and see the finished product and smoke it.
