WHy is Weed Getting So Much Play?

IMO it feels as though weed is becoming very commercial and very fast(i believe its because since obama took over) im sure im not the only one that's noticed. I dont know why all these television stations are acting like it just fell out the sky this year or something. anyone else have any other guesses as to why weed is becoming so popular? anything to do with our economic crisis? people looking for weed in times of need?

not sure what you are talking about.. i havent seen anything on tv/other media that has been pro-marijuana.

i think marijuana is as "popular" as it has always been... maybe more ppl are speaking out about it than before.

not pro-marijuana but i've seen atleast 5 television shows/documentaries on marijuana growing and seizure in the past 2 weeks... no?

well, obama ended federal raids in medical states. That's probably why weed is getting a lot of airtime

Yeah, I've noticed this phenomena aswell. It's almost as if the FCC is becoming more tolerant of the mention of weed, it's a refreshing change.

Craig Ferguson admits that he's high all the time now but he is still calling Joints, herbal cigarettes, lol....dudes a huge toker.

that's acutally a pretty big step in the right direction.

Well i believe that more people are growing it themselves and this is helping people realize that its only a freaking plant not some devil drug like coke or etc...


If it were legal to grow yourself i believe the alcohol business would take a huge hit. I know i wouldnt want to drink as much if i could blaze up at a bar, or buy weed at a bar/coffee shop.

Whoa now, dont get your hopes up just yet... you and me both know how the alcohol business affects the prohibition of marijuana. They make toooooooooo much money to let something come and destroy all of its profits (which weed would do for sure).

I just hope it becomes medicinal, and isnt as regulated as the other pharm drugs. ..If it doesnt happen in the next 8 years im moving to California

I like the idea of blazing at a bar too but the only problem I would have is people bugging out on weed. Not all people can handle weed and if newbies start spazing out on weed in a public bar, this wouldn't look good for our culture at all.

Im pretty sure the president is much higher in authority than any DEA official. Which means if the DEA did raid another grow it is in direct violation of the highest authority figures orders, which probably wouldnt go over too well.

But what do i know im just a canuck.

well whatevers happening, its good anyway you look at it. so if i get caught, applying for a job isn't going to hold the same stigma as any other felony
