Some of the membrane is still attached-I had the same happen to me this cycle. Either try misting it with water to see if it sheds it on its own, or you have to go back in with tweezers

For many many years, long before you were even swimming in your father's balls, plants learned to break from their shell. Leave them alone! Lol
