Why Is High Diff Between Vape and a Bong?

i also remember seeing a thread on fuckcombustion about how THC is an irritant to the lungs, where as smoke is a bit more easier to hold and rip. Personally i don't know if its true but I've been vaping exclusively for four months. I chill with my friends who are all smokers (non vaporizer users) and they all have very weak lung capacity... where as i step up to the plate and am able to take monster rips from their bong. As we are toking i notice that I don't cough at ALL, where as my buds are coughing up like they have a black lung. Personally I really do love both, not to mention edibles!

well I say nothing bad about vape other than it was bad for my own particular lungs...

nothing in that study says that impurities in the smoke get you high.

here's a study that repots absolutely no cases ofemphasema or lung cancer from chronic cannabis smoking:

http://pharmrev.aspetjournals.org/content/38/1/1.abstract

and it wont cause bronchitis as long as you don't abuse your lungs taking huge deep rips and holding them in deep.

sr. verde, remember how my lungs were fucking with me for months and months and months while I was still vaping? (I don't want to get into the cause, I have plenty of evidence for myself to prove to myself that vaping caused this all for me.) when I switched to moderate smoking, not taking too big of rips and not holding them in very long, my lung issues have virtually dissapeared. I haven't had a night of waking up with my right lung inflammed in over a month....

just sayin...
I'm not saying impurities are the biggest part of why you get you high, but that the bad stuff in the smoke can effect your body in a way that will make you think the marijuana is stronger than it is (such as everyone ambering the shit out of their weed and then thinking its powerful even though its the byproducts of the breakdown of the THC that is giving them a bit of a false high). Do you really believe that breathing in smoke without cannabinoids won't make you feel high at all? I'm not a vaporizing elitist as much as I am a PC>Console elitist lol I just believe (based on the lab tests I've read) that vaporizers are generally a better option than smoking and deliver more THC than smoking- That this is because it can heat the herb without releasing as many nasty things things while releasing more of some of the good things because you only heated them enough to boil and not burn.

I suppose some people may get more high from smoking if their body is more affected by the other cannabinoids than by THC, and since smoking gives you more of certain cannabinoids (that may not be released at temps low enough to vaporize but not high enough to combust) this can get them more high. Poplars I agree with you on smoking getting you high from cannabinoids, smoking does have more of certain cannabinoids while vaporizing has more of certain other cannabinoids and less of others compared to smoking. But vaporizing (at the proper temp with a not crappy vaporizer) will always get you more of the THC in your bud than smoking will, but it won't get you as much of certain cannabinoids (which generally don't affect ones high as much as THC)

I prefer Vaporizers because it seems to be more effective with less herb (so it lasts longer). Some of my friends prefer smoking for the fun/flavor and the high it gets you compared to vaporizing (I liken it to smoking = more stoned feeling and vaporizing = more of a high feeling)

The analysis showed that the Volcano® vapor was remarkably clean, consisting 95% of THC with traces of cannabinol (CBN), another cannabinoid. The remaining 5% consisted of small amounts of three other components: one suspected cannabinoid relative, one suspected PAH, and caryophyllene, a fragrant oil in cannabis and other plants. In contrast over 111 different components appeared in the gas of the combusted smoke, including a half dozen known PAHs. Non-cannabinoids accounted for as much as 88% of the total gas content of the smoke.
So yeah volcano vapor = 95%THC while Marijuana Smoke = 88% non cannabinoids Although it sounds like they were using weak weed and not using the volcano as effectively as they could have while going all out crazy on the smoking part (they make note of not using the Volcano as best as possible while noting that the device they used for the combustion tests was unrealistic compared to how people smoke and was much more effective than a lighter and a pipe or a doobie)

bullshit... I'm not gonna debate with you, you can have fun with your own brain. I'm not getting higher because of some impurities, fuckin a.. I don't amber up my buds, they get me high as fuck from smoking.. I vaped for 6 months and I never got as high from vaping as I did from smoking.

you are making nothing but heresay bullshit claims about the impurities, you have no idea what you're talking about, you have no evidence whatosever to prove your claims correct.. just drop that bullshit... if you like vaping more thats fine, don't tell us dedicated smokers that we're getting false highs, prick.

edit: and the comment about the amber trichomes, the THC starts turning to CBD, this isn't degrading to an impurity, this is changing to another cannabinoid adding more body to the high....

please stop spouting heresay.

Funny thing is, MANSWERS did this very question about 2 months ago because some guy wanted to know.
They used a volcano vap and got over 92% THC
Bongs deliver almost 80% THC
Smoking in Zig-Zag's delivered just under 30% THC

now that honestly seems very realistic... I get high in half the amount I would roll in a joint... out of a bong.

We've provided much more evidence on this than you have. For some reason vaporizers don't get you higher than smoking, while all the evidence presented points towards that being an exception to some rule. I'm not saying impurities get you high and cannabinoids don't, I'm saying they are both getting you high and possibly the impurities (the many differen't chemicals in smoke vs vapor) along with the cannabinoids the (ones you get more of from smoking than vaping *this doesn't include THC*) and your brain being more sensitive to those others and/or less effected by THC.

Do you really believe if you took the cannabinoids out of marijuana it wouldn't make you feel not 100% sober? If humans breathe in enough of any kind of smoke it will make them feel high/stoned/abnormal because of all the bad shit in the smoke. The nice thing about marijuana is that it has so many good things in it that you don't suffer as much harm from all the crap. But cannabinoids get you high. Crap gets you high. Cannabinoids + crap gets you high.

I'm also not arguing that you get more high from vaping than smoking, for some reason you appear not to. I'm saying the science/evidence/etc shows most people should be more affected by marijuana while also being less affected by the crap in smoke if using a vaporizer instead of combustion. Most people who ever use a vaporizer will contest to it having a greater effect than smoking the same amount, however it seems quite a fair % of people prefer smoking to vaporizing anyway.

Perhaps you were using a not so great vaporizer that was possibly not running as hot as it should have, and maybe you are also a very efficient smoker. I'm not trying to prove you wrong as much as I am trying to come up with an explanation for why the vaping>smoking rule (as far as getting higher goes) doesn't apply to you like it does with most people.

Its pretty simple, vaporizing at a correct temperature burns Mostly THC, Smoking with fire burns THC plus CBD CBN etc etc. the fact that it feels different is that your just separating the cb's from thc and the taste is also heightened vaporizing, Many others including myself can get crazy vaked off a vaporizer just as anyone else can get baked using a bong/pipe/joint/blunt. and with this science information posted, who cares?

Jdizzle22, i understand what you are saying. now I'm going to get baked/vaked.

sorry but crap weed doesn't get me high (NOT EVEN A LITTLE) so your conclusion is bullshit.

I'm not buying it, you're making an indirect conclusion with absolutely no direct evidence, its just not good enough.

and just don't reply trying to say the same thing you've been saying over and over, YOU HAVE NO DIRECT EVIDENCE. it doesn't matter if I haven't presented as much evidence as you, you have no direct evidence for your bs claims so don't make them unless you want to be called a bullshitter, simple.

I just don't care anymore.

What do you mean by direct evidence, and about what?

Everyone knows breathing smoke is bad, most people also know it doesn't take much smoke to make you feel off, and fewer know this is partly due to the contents of the smoke, and partly due to the lack of oxygen. Proof of this concept is people exposed to fires and smoke. They tend to get light headed, pass out, etc. Hmm... Sounds kinda like people who smoke pot...

Smoking marijuana clearly includes some of this (although it may not be that bad depending on how long you hold your breath and how much you actually smoke and how full of various chemicals from its production), but this is MUCH greater than the same sort of effect you would get from vaporizing which contains virtually none of the things that smoking includes except the THC and smaller amount of certain other cannabinoids

The point I want to make right now is that smoking marijuana will give you some of the 'false high/stone' I just mentioned, while vaporizing shouldn't (unless you set it high enough over the boiling point of THC).

There are many possible reasons why vaporizing didn't get you higher than smoking. But what I tried to explain in this post was another possible reason why smoking might have a greater affect on you than vaporizing.

it could be questionable as in it could have been made in a country that doesn't have regulation over the materials inside, personally there are a couple of affordable vapes that would perform and last longer.
Extreme Tower V (non q), hot box, budda vape for around $140. those are quality.

i use my $140 (maybe less) Vaporite vaporizer with the whip at 310-320 degrees, .2-.3 of bud gives me at least 10-15 pulls of tasty head rushing vapor...then it starts to smell like burnt popcorn when its finished and turns a dark brown color..usually just throw it away

when you add a water pipe that popcorn taste is almost non existent. I keep my abv to make edibles and greendragon (tincture)

wowwww thats a great idea man, I actually tried using one of those bong adapters for vape and the head rush was so extreeme that i blacked out and hit the floor! but thats def a good idea because ive been smoking my bong all the time and basiclly forgot about my vaporizer...so now i can get happy using both together like TEAMWORK! haha

:o

The reason i love my vape so much is that i can hit my glass indoors and not stink/skunk up the place with smoke and ash. I love the process of getting high just as much as being high bongsmilie
