Why do you use rubbermaid to grow?

I have seen so many small grow setups made outta these damn rubbermaids. Like why would someone want to work with a rubbermaid when they could easily build a box with a door outta wood?

I must say i'd rather a rubbermaid over a cardboard box any day of the week tho.

Shit just looks so trashy and ghetto.....

Hopefully RIU can spred some light on this.

look at my edit broski.
But anyway.
Im seeing alot of people used them to grow shrooms in but then people started to use them for bud. o well.
I've never heard of these used for 'shrooms but I used 30 gal totes outdoors last year
and my 11 Skywalker Ogs grew to 9 - 12 feet and bushy due to 5 toppings during growth.
My 7 Blue dreams and XXX Ogs grew to 5 feet and bushy. The only drag about these totes
is they aren't round. However you could grow monsters in these.

Its common to double totes up while attempting to make a small stealth grow , its more about convenience than anything in my humble opinion .. Any kid can scrape a few of these up and make a grow box with compact lighting ..

Its almost as trendy now as the tight pants and stupid shoes that emo kids wear lmao

Thank's! Actually, the garden was twice as nice as what you see.
My room mate lost her camera with all the pix just before
harvest so I took these other pix you see half way through the
harvest. Man was I bummed when the original pix got lost.
They were much better and showed the whole garden not
just half of it. Oh well live and learn. To take your own pix that is! : )

A 10 gallon rubbermaid container painted flat white inside (at least three coats) with 4 23W 6500K CFLs makes a great seedling chamber before they're ready to go under the MH.

Los Angeles in So Cal. has some sweet weather,
you could grow outdoors anytime of the year
for as long as you want!
Plastic totes do work
very well but I would trade them out for some round
buckets though. Big round containers around here
cost way too much for some stupid reason or another.
The 30 gal totes are cheap at $6 - $10 ea.

People use those totes bc of they're pretty cheap and easy to modify. I stacked two 30 gals right on top of each other and it worked nicely.
