maybe you guys can help I'm looking to grow a 5 foot plant, (from the pot not the ground) should I use a 7 or 10 gallon pot? i have them in one gallon pots now. I'll be running 4 1000w hps. they're 3 weeks from seed now. 5 are 2 weeks and 10 just popped. i wanted to stagger the grows. well tell me what you think and any suggestions?
This is a auto thread. Are yours autos? If so the bigger the pot the bigger the plant with autos. Next time start them in final pot.

The tap root determines flower. Ruderalis grows where there is long daylight. When the taproot hits permafrost they flower. That's the reason for planting to final pot.

I have 5 strains lemon haze, berry haze, sour diesel, royal cheese and power flower about 5 of each. how big should I let them veg till I flip to get about a 5 foot plant
The haze id say flip to flower at about 2 feet they tend to stretch imo, same for the sour d, let the cheese veg a bit longer though(mine are usualy shorter) dont know the flower power, never ran one

Edit: 7 gallon smart pots work fine

Hey white, thanks for responding. Have you grown autos? Any suggestions for me? Can I still produce without added nutrients? Anything to say about the lights?
Yes.
Those were under t5. Organic homemade soil. 15 inch pot, holds about five gallons.

Bigger pots, bigger plants with autos. Take care of the plant and yield will follow.

What light you using?

Damn... I'd feel pretty good if I grew buds like that. That's awesome. Ok, so now I have a couple questions. First I'm using a 300W VIPARSPECTRA led for 20 hours/day, then using a 125w CFL for 4 hours a day (to rest the led).
I only have my plant in a 2 gallon pot, but read that I shouldn't transplant an auto. Is that right? I'm 12 days in. Also, should I consider adding nutrients soon?

Thanks for the help.

Thank you. No problem for the help.
I use 19/5. When it gets bigger run them both lights at the same time. More light, more bud.

What about transplanting? Do you think it'll hurt my plant to keep it in the 2 gallon? I don't mind a smaller yield, I just want it to stay healthy.
You can transplant without damage if done right. I would just grow them out this time.

If they need transplanting wait until roots are coming out the bottom. You want a good root ball that will stay together. Let the soil dry. Squeeze the sides of the pot to loosen the roots. Turn sideways with the stem between middle and ring finger. Tip pot slightly upside down and the root ball and all will come out with no damage.

Put some dirt in the new pot and then set the old pot in the new pot. Fill with dirt around the old pot anf you have a perfect hole.

You might be a little disappointed if you think an auto is gonna get 5 feet tall... It's possible but I would expect something in the 4ft range. Height isn't everything either you want the plant to fill out with fat buds. I have an Ak Auto and a think different right now. The think different is 4 ft should yield around qp the ak looks like it might get 3 ft tall if I'm luck both grown in 6 gallon pots. Genetics seem to matter a lot more in autos because you can't control the veg or the flower. Dutch passion has some good genetics but so do a few others. It's also not all about yield ya wanna have some good smoke too. I'm a once a day smoker. I pack my pax with think different and it's good for me for a couple hours I'm not trying to fry my brains. Just maintain my health and keep from having seizures all the while being happy. It gets it done. Plant in final pot 5-7 gallons know if the strain can handle lots of newts give it plenty of light be sure to stake it cause if ya do end up with some large buds the plant structure kinda sucks and your side buds and fall over from weight.

Specialkdog..

I was joking man.. Didn't go well. But I made myself chuckle and that's what counts.

Alot of older members think if it doesn't say "start a conversation" when you click on a member they've been banned.

Your previous post asking about whatever idk i don't feel like looking.. Anyway that's the gist

I've only ever tried bagseed. I'm still using john doe seeds. Except this time. I'm doing it all indoors. Rather than trying to contend with bugs, heat. And a four legged nomming machine that barks.

Lol mine meows..
The dogs know not to mess with Ganja but the cat won't listen to anybody

Nothing wrong with bagseed though

I get mixed reactions when I say I'm using unknown genetics. And my dog is an idiot. He knows he shouldn't eat fuckin everything in sight. But, still does. I came home one day. And he'd eaten 3 tomato plants. All the fekkin chives. Dug up a good third of the spuds. And killed the big ass sunflower I'd bought my mum.
