Why do you newbs always grow auto's?

That would be a plus side to auto's, If you don't have a light deprivation greenhouse.
I can flower photo-period plants in the middle of summer.

im not saying they're better yielders than photos but i can plant seeds every two weeks throughout the grow season. they'll be genetically unique plants so one disease wont effect every single plant.

You could do the same with photo-period seeds + I guarantee you they're no more disease prone than an auto-flower seed.

This is not how communicable disease pathology works. Nor is it how genetic inheritance works.

i like to grow both at the same time, which isnt a problem for me as i have 2 tents. i like Sour D, but it takes a long time to get ready, so i throw in an auto a couple of weeks before i start the SD, then one about 2 weeks after i start. i get something to smoke while waiting for the bigboys to come in, and it can all be different, so i don't get bored.
i wouldn't grow autos as a main crop, but as a hush puppie to keep me from harvesting early, a lot easier to let plants go full term when you got something to smoke while you're waiting

i agree but the planting period for photos turns a vegetation cycle. this is still an opportunity to get a crop of flowers in before yet another crop of flowers.

idk im really not trying to steer anyone out of practice. just sharing how I've done it and smiled. money well spent especially when they're freebies.

As opposed to clones, sure, did I miss some context? Photoperiod plants aren't necessarily clones, autoflower has nothing to do with it. That's all, bruh.

Auto's have a veg period too, they don't just come out of the ground with flowers on them...

The two on the right are about 3 ft. those pots hold five gallons. This next run I will run two plants per pot. They never got root bound.

Never grown Autos myself but I was having this same debate with my mate no long ago who only grows autos.

His reason was so he could keep them under 24 hour light and remove the need for a timer.
Has fresh seedlings, mid veg and ones finishing flower all in the same room and pops new seeds as he harvests and clears space.
He harvests 1-2 plants every 3 weeks getting between 1/2 and 1 O. Which is a nice steady stream of bud for him so he never runs out.
4.5 - 8.5g a week that works out too for him.

Compare that to mine I get between 7 - 9 O per 15 weeks.
13 - 17g a week. But then with quite a wait between harvests I usually find my self having to go back to spots in the last 4-5 weeks because I wasted so much earlier making hash, eatables and rolling big joints lol.
