Why do you grow weed?

I'm curious to know why you guys grow weed. Most people have access to dealers and dispensaries nowadays, so what motivates you to grow your own green?

It's cheaper. By a lot!

It started as a quarantine project and I fell in love. Obviously I’m new to it but, I’m having a blast and learning so much!

Its fun plus its calming and not all of us live in a legal country so the passion as well as all the other reasons above thats why

I grow for my wife. Shops charge a lot for low quality. My wife won’t even smoke weed from shops after smoking mine. Guess I’m stuck growing forever.

I have really enjoyed learning about it, plants are a huge part of human existence so I can learn and enjoy the buzz. Looking forward to learning many more things as I expand my knowledge.

Self-sustainment. Same reason I grow my own food, purify my own water, generate my own electricity etc.

Because I can.

I find it very relaxing and it’s fun to see something you put your time and effort into grow into some so amazing.

Medicinal, actually growing mainly for CBD. If I ever get insurance to pay for it I'd just grow a little for pleasure.

All of the above. With the coming out of pine resin cut concentrates being a real eye opener on all the benefits.

What's your approximate operating costs for that (what looks like) a double 4x8' setup? What lights?

Most? I think you live in a bubble. Most of the US still isnt legal. Many states not even medicinally. I grow for quality medicine as I have no other choice and I like growing things.

Pretty much all of the above, maybe besides the pesticide part as I've only been buying from dispensaries lately (indoor grown only, tested for pesticides). It's definitely a therapeutic experience, and as my grow is nearing the chop, it's gonna save me a looot of money (already had growers tolerance before growing). Especially in my state (IL), where a recreational ounce goes for $600+ in the dispensary which should honestly be a crime.

For all my lights...
2x-1k hps
2x-600w hps
1-315cmh
My electric is $0.11/kW hr.

With fans/pumps and all, it's about $200-$250 per month for the grow.

I like big buds and I cannot lie......
