Why do people insist on taking cuts of crappy plants and selling them as clones?

I've finally got myself in a situation where I have a mother / clone tent and a flower tent and I thank god everyday I don't have to buy clones from the people out in the wild. I've gotten so many fucked up crappy nute burned clones over the last year and a half...I just don't understand why people can't grow a simple healthy mother plant and take simple healthy clones. Maybe it's money that motivates or something else but jonny will no longer be subjected to bullshit clones ever again :)

I love having mothers but I hate that it cuts into my plant count - I wish their were a more reliable, cheaper seed source locally.

^^^ Johnny, there's a lot of reputable folks on here that meet up at places like GC3 that have excellent clonage. If your set now thats a good thing.

This is why I take cuts then flower so I never have to keep a mother but always have the strain going. A great method if you like variety but not if you like to flower 1 strain at a time.

I am firm believer that genetic material is safe inside the shitty shell of those clones. I much prefer a pheno hunt through a seed pack(s) myself but even a burt tore up mite infected cut can be cleaned up cared for and built back to its prior glory (assuming it was glorious prior to the nastiness) I don't mutate after I get a cold or foot fungus-seems logical plants don't either. be the guy who looked through 100 seeds and sells cuts, it might open your eyes a little to be on that side of things. I'm sure if sold clones though they'd be of high quality and good health though-Johnny takes care of his ladies that's well documented. cheers

I blame ignorance on both the sellers and buyers of garbage. If your source is simply dropping three packs of feminized seeds to obtain a genetic source, you get exactly what you bargained for. As a buyer you must know what a phenohunt is and know your source has the ability and knowledge to conduct such. If you buy a dog in the newspaper that was never screened for dysplasia or heart abnormalities, whose fault is it when that dysplastic adolescent dog drops dead from a genetically faulty heart?

This! I don't keep "mothers" so to speak. I just clone clones before flowering. I don't have the space or count to keep massive trees. Its easy and serves the same purpose.

Also to be honest, I don't trust most people in our community. This community is full of people who are scammers, criminals (well we all were at one point) and fraudsters. I don't have the time to run a shit clone of questionable integrity. To be honest there is only a couple growers I'd even touch their genetics in the first place.

Worse is people that can't even answer a basic question about what they are selling. i.e. is this the clone only version, or some shit bean company ripping the name of a famous clone.

Plus all the dangers of bugs and fungus

cant stand it when you are looking for a specific pheno and someone says they have it and then you waste time and money picking it up and vegging it and then flowering it only to find out its the same damn pheno I already have or had!!! I wanted pink damnit not purple!

Pink what? There are a lot of environmental factors that can push a "pink" genetic color to "purple"?

^^^^^best answer! +rep!

then again there are people that put out inferior intentionally.....for $

most here have no idea what true superior genetics are and how to release them......
--or how to take 'proper' cuts-

--they think everything in "their" garden is the shizzle and no one can tell them different unless they find out themselves thru the long drawn out dance every grower goes thru

everyone I have encountered here thinks they have the whip just cuz 'they' have it

--it's part of the spiritual release of unintended consequences when you start dancing with the plants

hubris...greed.....envy....false pride
......all part of the spiritual nature of the plant that most can't even begin to understand....

--that's why it's so dangerous and powerful and releases the 'truth' among every one that touches it-or thinks they are the shit

:lol::lol::lol::eyesmoke:

Takes many years to even 'try' and understand the plant
.....your whole life
