i first started out growing one big plant, she is beutifull, about 2 and a half weeks into budding, and everything is looking good. while i was getting ready to start budding the one i already have growing one of my friends gave me a baby, about a foot high, and asked if i could grow it for him. i told him that i was getting ready to bud mine so the conditions wouldnt be that good for a growing plant under a 400 hps light goin at twelve twelve but he insisted so i didnt think it would hurt. both plants started and everything went good, both turned out to be a female and started producing buds..... so i thought. when i looked at them today the little guy appeared to have pollen sacks growing under the buds???? what does this mean? do i have a hermy? was all my time waisted and now my pride and joy is pollenated? tell me what u guys think, look at the pics.....

Either genetics.. or the plant thought it was going to die.. since the enviorment changed dramatically. when it thinks its going to die.. it kind of goes into this state where it produces male parts to reproduce before death.

you had to change the environment very gradually.

It happens.

One of my plants went hermie because it was the one i abused the most.

I have a aero setup.. so to put in nutes and new water i have to use one of the holes used for the plants on the lit... i always lifted it out of the res.. put it in some room for a few mins each day... to add/ph/ changes water and stuff..

Out of 6 female plants.. the one i abused the most went hermie...

Its just a characteristics of plants... they need to reproduce no matter what so it trys to in any means possible before death.

Even healtyh female plants.. the last few days or week of flowering when we reduce the light more.. it goes hermie..(somtimes)

there is great debate as to what causes hermies. one thing is for sure.. genetics have a huge roll it hermaphidite plants. and an incosistant environment is another way to produce hermie's.. blondie is absolutley correct though.. the cannabis plant will produce male flowers in order to pollinate itself . its a defense mechanism to make sure the plants genetics survive!! it sucks for growers though!! i had a hermie i chopped down a couple weeks ago.. it sucks but get rid of that little guy befor it pollitnates the female!!
