Why aren't LEDs made just for flowering?

I am still not understanding why an LED is designed for vegging, when you only need one light to veg?

Isn't the blue spectrum needed more for flowering? So why are there none available?

Multiple lights are needed for flowering. LEDs should be blue then.

i think you might have that backwards....blue is for veg as orange/red for flower ....

i dont use LEDs....but mh bulbs are blue/white and hps bulb are orange/red....

Yeah, blue is more for veg and red is better for flowering. some companies do veg and bloom models separately, with either heavier ratios of blue or red diodes. However, a combination of both red and blue should give better results, its just a matterof configuring a proper ratio.

It must be backwards day: You can use blue light to sex you plants while vegging without stressing or hermie-ing them. They sell LEDs for flower and for veg... because they want double the money.

they make LED for both but I am not impressed with them. the technology isnt really there. you could also use plasma lights they use the same amount of power. I work in a hydroponic store and I sold a guy 6 LED made my stealth gro and 2 of then came back for warenty with 6 rows of LEDs out on each of them. and 3rd one came back and it was black from soot, it caught on fire

the blue is for the root health and red is for making buds bigger. i believe one should sub lighting. like in veg have 3 MH stationary and 1 HPS on a tracker. and for bloom have the HPS stationary and the MH on a tracker

LEDs have issues penetrating deep enough into the canopy and into the plants.

Caught on fire WTF? Lol, I thought the whole point of LED lights was that they were supposed to generate minimal heat, but they kinda suck if they burn down ur grow room huh. For how much those lights can cost I think the should be able to sense when ur plants r done and harvest the bastards for u.

Damn bucket do u really get that crazy trying to mimic the movement of the setting sun in ur grow? I just rotate my pots, but I'm a cheap bastard. HA!
