Why are these HPS lights so cheap!?!?

I can't help but be skeptical.. I found this site with some extremely cheap HPS lights. I'm not quite sure if 2100k is a good temp to grow with? And they just seem to cheap to be worth a shit.. Does anyone have any intel they can share? Here's a link, Someone fill me in.

Because thats just the bulb, the expensive part is the ballast.

I'm pretty sure it's because you need to buy a $200+ ballast to get them to work at all.

Im pretty sure we already know that we need a ballast to run a 400w HPS.

Wondering why so cheap when most 400w bulbs go for 50-100$

I've always paid 10-15$ for sylvania grolux 600w bulbs

I also just bought a Sylvania 400w at lowes, I was using a agromaxxx.

Have always worked out really good for me, the enhanced spectrum grolux is specifically designed for the job.

I only have the plain old 400w hps bulb, I hope this will work as well.

I use plain old hps bulbs and they work just fine. I only grow one plant at a time and I just harvested 150 grams off my first ladie! :weed:

So I would say there fine.

If you search that site they have balllasts for flour,mh and hps. they don't seem to have cord sets for any hid lights.

Thanks for the feed back. I already have the ballast, I'm not too worried about that.. I was just curious of the quality of these bulbs. I mean, a $20 HPS bulb.. that includes shipping.. that should raise an eyebrow or two.

I was just looking at 1000bulbs.com and there prices are about the same for like parts and bulbs.

Thanks for the link. The Metal Halide aren't worth the buy. They aren't the right spectrum, however, the HPS bulbs are 2100k. Good prices too! +rep

I got a 400w hps conv. bulb at the hydro shop. Was 15.00 more then 1000bulbs w/shipping.
