Why are so many, if not all, Americans gluttons for pain..addicted to misfortune and failure. We are always striving, hoping, wishing, and praying for things that in many instances cannot be achieved and are fairy-talesque . We want the perfect house, with the perfect job, and the perfect mate...the "perfect life." This cannot be achieved!!! Even with all of the material things in the world you will still not be happy, and most people know this, however they try and try again just to fail once more. On one hand, i guess the logic makes sense. There cannot be appreciation for the good times without the bad. But why must we bring the bad upon ourselves to appreciate the good? Happiness should not simply be the absence of despair!!! It should be positive state, where our life has meaning and pleasure and value to ourself.

Most of what we need can be found in our lives today. All we need are something to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to. People always talk about what they want or what they intend. These are nothing more than empty words with no promise or sincerity. "When all is said and done, more is said than done." Lou Holts...Most people are simply bored because they are so stuck in the predictable, the bland, and repetitive; they are afraid of risk. From the boredom people reach out for things they think they want, things they think will make them happy. But they cannot reach these things and subconsciously they are bringing them selfs the failure that lets them love and enjoy what they do have. If you just get rid of all the nonsense, all of the things waisting time, waisting cognitive function, we can truly find these things that make us happy and stop setting ourself up for failure. Just find thoes small things, almost minuscule things; something to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to.

Just what i was thinking today in class..
