Why are my bottom leaves turning yellow shriviling and dying?

week 1 of flower. vegged for 6 weeks... MY ph tester strip reads a solid yellow....
USing FF nutes .

Whats wrong with this baby? My first hydro grow and already fucking up. its blue widow.

My guess is temperature or ph lock? anyone who can tell by the pics please help !Photo-0044.jpgPhoto-0046.jpg

If your ph tester is working, what is the temp? If it's in the 90's that may be part of it. What kind of vents are you using, lights, ect.

And damn you I spent 2 minutes trying to squash that bug on your sig.

haha yea tempertature is a steady 90-95 in the grow box with lights on(hot in texas). Does that cause my leaves to die out like that?

yeah you wanna drop it, quite a bit. Most strains start stressing in the 90's. Try to get it to at least 85 preferably 75 but 85 will work.

Ok so i should take it out of the flower box in the meantime till i fix the temp issues and that will save it?

I just want it to stop dying

Bloody summer... I'm from Australia and most people don't bother even growing in summer unless its outdoors... Last summer I ran an airconditioner in my grow room and Lets just say I never wanna pay that much for electricity again. Anyway, I feel your pain buddy! Good luck!

Well i got wembley flowering in soil and its doing fine, not even hermied. I think just the DWC is more sensitive to temperature.

Yea its a 100degrees F daily over here all summer long.

I just put a big ass peice of ice in the resovoir... I hope it dont stun it , was pretty big chunk of ice in a 2 .5 gallon

I hope my trusty 3 dollar wallmart ph strip dont fail me. It's pretty yellow which indicates a 6.0 ph

Lol bout the ice... I'm interested to know if it works though.

I have no personal experience with this however, I've heard that if you add CO2 to your grow that it will help your plants cope with 90+ temps. Take it with a grain of salt and do some research to make your own decision, but it may help. I would also suggest picking up an electronic Ph/ppm meter because if the bottom leaves are turning yellow that sounds like it "may" be a nitrogen deficiency. (again research this before going crazy with nutes cuz if I'm wrong and you add nitrogen you will make the problem worse)

Hope it helps.

Another Texas grower. Rep it man! Rep it!!

Yeah man I have to keep at least two fans (one on bulb one near the bottom going up) in the summer. Fuckin over 100 degrees outside practically every day. I have the same heat stress issues. Just clip that dead/dying off man.

Thanks, The leaves looking upright again not droopy, but the tip of the leaves are yellow and working its way up which from what i've read is nute burns.....

Well, I can't get the temperature in resovoir down, it's suppose to be 108 degrees today and above 100 every day after today. The maintanence where i live just told me I had to remove my window AC units So i'm screwed.

Looks like i'm transplanting her to soil. Got some FF soil still so I hope it will be fine. I did searches on here "transfering dwc to soil" but all the results just gave me the opposite "soil to dwc" lol.

I'll try dwc again in winter and when I get rid of my wal mart ph tester for a decent digital one.

Will it be fine? and should i flush it in clean water for 24 hours before i transplant?

I just recommend finishing out with a high heat grow. Throw some fans in there. Cut a hole in the ceiling. Do what you have to do man. Fuck heat, grow in the summer.

Do you guys get high humidity in texas? Where I am we get pretty bad humidity in summer so we gotta have heaps of air blowing on buds or they get mouldy... Even with the fans going still get mould sometimes lol

Depends if you're near the coast. I don't have that problem.
