why all the transplanting?

why do people transplant their plants and not just
plant them straight into their perminant container?

I transplant once during growing....Due to the simple fact that my veg table is small and my HPS room is huge. I can get more plants veggin in smaller pots then when im ready to put them into the HPS room I transplant into bigger pots....

Actually this is a good question . . . kinda hard to answer. Basically, if your roots have unlimited space when the plant is tiny, the above ground vegetation will wait/stall until the root-ball is sufficiently established to kick the plant into vegetative production.
Also, it's hard to water such a planter properly with just a seedling growing roots.

i guess then i will grow my clones to a nice sise and then transplant just before i bring them to flower. im doing a sea of green so that should make it even easier :)
