Why all the arguments over LED vs HPS ?

Heat bro. Some of these gardeners are doing 1+ pounds off 400 watts of cobs. I believe captianmorgan has done it with less cob watts. If you were trying to match that DE hps would be the replacement and the heat would fucking be dreadful.
I have the reverse problem than most. i need the heat to keep the temps up in my grow room in the cellar so with LEDs I'd need to have the heater running too and heaters don't grow plants as well as lights do.
:| Here's the itty bitty buds ..*sigh* you guys are just gonna laugh at them, but I already know they're shit. *sigh*
How long have they been flowering? Look like they are just getting into full bloom and will get a lot fatter yet. Those big colas start off as tiny flowers that build up to become buds the those build up to become colas. Yours look excellent.

Those pics are day 32 I'm on day 39 now and I really don't see much of change. Someone told me they look anorexic and his HPS lights would have done better. I guess that's why I started the thread , because of something that was going on at my house. Thank you for saying they're ok.

They look great. Many HPS enthusiasts are like the Luddites who squealed in alarm over electricity, automobiles and telephones. Anything new that threatens outdated dogma is demonized. It's very common with cannabis 'geniuses'.

There's some good info sprinkled in here among the genital measurements and arguing. Following... for now :)

Incorrect as usual.

It's just that we don't see any reason if you already have a perfectly good, functional and working MH/HPS working to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on an LED/COB.

That's all there is to it. You've been bitching for three days because you simply refuse to accept that simple little truth.

If you're in the market for a light because you don't have one, or because your current light has gone the way of the dodo, then by all means look into it.

I had MH/HPS.

It was good but heat was always a bitch and some buds foxtailed.

Then I had a blurple and it worked but just wasn't as strong.

Now I have a full-spectrum LED and love it. Best of both worlds imo

They're just young.... the plant looks really healthy and happy. Nice job. I was looking for LED a few years ago but couldn't find any that had proven flowering success. Same shit though, the guy selling the AC-DE set up said LED isn't even close to HPS... here, buy this, not that. Oh well, if somethings working it's hard to switch.

If I were going to run florescent, I'd go with T5's. They are, without doubt, the most underrated light in the game. They're cheap, put out low heat and do a fantastic job.

And a dimable 600 watt MH/HPS runs 180 dollars bulbs included.
yes and the numbers he gave was $150 vs $1000. Quite different than $150 vs 250 and you have to replace bulbs, deal with heat and have a higher electricity bill. Led is a higher upfront cost but its not 10x the cost, and its cheaper to run and low heat output. Its not for everyone but quit acting like the cost ratio is 10:1. After 1 year i will have already recovered the price difference and dont have to worry about heat.
