Who let the dogs in (woo, woo woo!)

I normally leave the door to the grow room open during the day, with a fan in the doorway blowing fresh air in. My question is IF my dog did get in, and maybe he "marked his territory" what effect would that have on the plant in question? Would it exhibit yellowing edges, and curled leaves like nute burn? and If the burn is extensive so that the leaves are crispy, will the plant survive? I am transplanting one today that has not been watered for over 5 days, and is only about 3' tall (I had topped her), so it isn't being burned by the lights. I have been religious about our little rat dog (she likes to dig) staying out, but it never occured to me that the wolf would go in there.

I wouldn't be worrying about him pissing on the plant. I was tending to my plants once and my dog comes in right by me and before I could do anything he bit a chunk out of one of the leaves. He'd eat all my plants if I didn't keep him out lol.

Thanx. I feel better now. I still transplanted the one I think he pisssed on in clean soil, just for shits and grins. Man everything went great right up until the 2nd week of flowering. then I lost my best plant, and another looks like it's about to bite the shitter also.

Here is the guy I think pissed on my "Baby":

He's my kid!!! The greatest animal on earth!!! And NO LONGER on the lead. he can run free on the property. I had to restrain him until I got fenced. He's gentle as a kitten, but intimidates everyone eho sees him. hes around 135 #

it shouldnt be a big deal but if its effecting the plant i would flush. urine is around 95% water so i dont see that other 5% of bile and waste having that much of an effect

Urine contains a decent amount of ammonia (which is very bad for plants).

THATS what I was afraid of. And I believe that when they "mark" territory, it's particularly concentrated. I repotted, and croosed my fingers. here are some oics, maybe someone can see whats wrong. the plant to was a good 3' from the lights, so I dont believe its light burn:

that looks more like heat stress. female pets are more toxic my female dog kills the grass were she goes but not the male

it has ammonia in it but its in that 5%...you should flush anyway

It would seem that flushing got me into trouble already. Is that not just another way to overwater? I am NOT disagreeing with you, just asking. I had problems that started right after I flushed them to lower the pH of the soil.
Is flushing recommended as a routine remedy, or is it a last ditch emergency resort?

i was in the other thread you had where you overwatered the plant. flushing isnt overwatering its just cleaning the nutrients out of the soil. the reason it was harmful in your last grow is because there was no problem with nutes. the only problem with that plant was that it was over watered and then you flushed it and watered it more. with this plant its a different story. it has been poisoned by your dogs urine. unless those burn marks were there before or you changed something recently it has to be the dog so flushing should help get the urine out of the soil

i have found that flushing wont help the soils ph only get rid of salt buid up from nutes and improper watering.

that i believe is a piece of paper on the ground. or the blurry leg kinda happens when you take pic of somethiong that is moving

did you change anything else in the grow that could have made those burns show up?
like a new fert or light?

have you flushed yet?

Yes, the overwatering you refer to was the result of flushing them, one plant (the one from the other thread) wilted, and now 2 days later, two others are exhibiting these signs. I transplanted the worst one into as much new clean soil as possible, and LIGHTLY watered with a bit of epsom, and suprethrive, no other nutes

Yep. Figured that one out. I tried to balance the pH by getting my HIGHLY alkaline water to 5-6 with vinegar. ( All I could think of at the moment, others have suggested lemon juice in the future.)
