its not a matter of hurting anyone , it could blow the wrong rated charger and we dont know how good/bad his house wiring is to deal with a surge.

bad advice to give a newbie it may be a AC charger and he has dc fan fried then
and if over 12 volts fan fried and if under 12 fan spins slow
sure it is low voltage but when it comes to anythin electrical makes sure u got compatiple equipment and wired properly and if u are in to big of a rush to post safe advice then let us take care of his questions.
