Who is the real Obama

I know, I voted for him. What I voted for was not the man, but his campaign promises. Now it appears he is changing into Bush III. His continued and even enhanced Bush policies are starting to make me very afraid for this country, On the one hand he gives this wonderful speech about peace and harmony, while on the other hand he is hiring more Blackwater type private contractors for Afghanistan and Iraq. He says he'll have the military out of Iraq while manning a humongus embassy with private troops. How much will that cost us at 100K + per individual per year. He is continuing on with rendition and spending 600 million on expanding Bagram prison, the site of torture and abuse.
He has basically taken single payer out of the medical equation and allowed the Insurance and HMO corporations to rule on his medical plan. He gives eloquent speeches and then shuffles off to do more Bush type work. What the fuck. I realize it would be no better with McCain, but I certainly expected more from Obama, Maybe McCain would have even been better about prisoner abuses. I am getting real dissapointed with Obama. It is time to start holding his feet to the fire.

I think Obama really does want to do some good, but his "advisers" have other plans that do not involve our best interests whatsoever. I think he really wanted to make big changes, good changes, but he has to go with what his "advisers" tell him. I wouldn't doubt he gets death threats constantly for him and his family if he says too much to the public. I've noticed his hair is turning grey already, damn I feel sorry for him.

We should all be concerned about where this country is going. If you are careless at this point, you've really lost your mind. The road we are taking is a devastating one. Decades of depression, or short-term mega depression. Either way, we can't escape it now. I'm afraid it's too late for anyone to change this course. Printing and handing out trillions of US Dollars isn't going to make it better, either. All that will do is remove the dollar as a dominant currency, or destroy it completely.

Sadly, there is far more than economic woes ahead. Swine flu is making a comeback, Pakistan is overrun by angry Taliban, North Korea has two US reporters (as if they took them as prisoners) and is seemingly preparing for an all out war, Iran is preparing to defend against Israel/US, Israel is preparing to blow Iran sky high. Not to mention economies around the globe are slowly collapsing.

Very scary times are ahead, I hope you've all been listening. I sure as hell don't want to be anywhere near inner cities when the shit hits the fan. Expect Martial Law in the US before this year ends. When there is Martial Law and economic meltdown, there is very, very angry citizens.

I hope and pray that things turn around, that everything gets better. But as the days go by, it only get worse, and worse, and worse, and worse. What is the breaking point? How long until the bubble pops?

Hey, Med ...

I'd think that you would be very happy with Obama. Weren't you the guy who was calling for employee (union) ownership of the corporations? Didn't you want a cap on the salaries of CEOs? It was you who was for government intervention into the private sector to cut the legs beneath the greedy businessman, wasn't it? Weren't you for increased federal spending ... even if it included massive borrowing and printing, even though the result would be the economic enslavement of our grandchildren? I think I remember your call for increased military activity in Afghanistan too, right?

You should be very happy Med. After all, we have Benito Mussolini in the White House.

You are such an asshole. I doubt you have ever critiqued your choices and discovered they weren't exactly what you thought they were, Eh? Actually, I don't know why I even bother to respond to your Blather, I guess it is some masochistic mechanism that pops it's ugly head up once in a while. The only sincere comment I have for you is: Go fuck yourself!

You may be right. I certainly thought he had greater plans for the country, that's why I voted for him. It certainly wasn't the continuation of the Bush policies that we see now, endless war and prodding the muslim extremists even more, the expansion of private armies, larger war contracts, caving in on healthcare etc. The big boys have gotten to him and the only thing changing is him. Must have been that first ride on AF1, or maybe you are right, death threats from the big boys. He sure does give purty speeches though., From what I see, he's just another goddamn politician.

Translation: I'm so devoid of a knowledge of history, and too stubborn to accept that which other's were pointing out to me, that I failed to recognize exactly who Obama was when he stood up in front of 200,000 Berliners during the campaign and said: "We must sacrifice as a society for the good of the many."

Be happy Med ... we have Benito Mussolini in the White House.
