Ok i have noticed some white thin creepy crawly worms on the bottom of my tray that my pot sits on.

i have not seen them in my soil yet. they look like some sort of parasite or larvae. it seems they like water also.

should i let the plant dry out completely and see if that helps??

i cant take a pic of them as they are too small.

but i was wondering if anyone knows possibly what they are and how to get rid of them.

i have some stuff called Catapiller Killer by Safer n that does not seem to work on these type of worms.

if anyone has seen these before, PLEASE let me know how to get rid of them.

Thanks in advance.

with them being in the water at the bottom of the tray that catches the runoff i would think that it may be whitefly larva. just a guess though.

UPDATE: i have seen these white wormy looking things in the soil also but they dont look like the larvae or whatever that shit is in the bottom of the saucer.. does anyone have a clue what they are??????????? i need to get rid of these bugs, i am fed up with this shit already...

sometimes white sand on top of the soil will kill some larvae if its any type of moth or gnat eventually they need to come to the surface so they can fly away the sand prevents them from flying away and they die for lack of food.

thanks for the idea, but what about the worms in the bottom of the saucer?? will they die off too??

I would go with removing pot fron the saucer and clean with bleach let sit then rince with plain water then let dry once dried go about your biz as normal go ahead and add alil sand on the top of the dirt.

if they turn to gnats or moths you will need to get rid of them too but the sand will sometimes prevent them from laying more eggs

one thing i was wondering, do i have to worry bout my other girls getting infected with these bugs also??

dont let the runoff water sit in the tray after watering. That would put an end to what sounds like mosquito larvea or something

i have (2)10 gallon totes with lids. i mix peat moss, perlite, and cal/mag by percentages(60-20-20), seems to drain well, and also keeps ph in check untill flowering. cal/mag is organic, therefore needs to set into the soil by breaking down. that's what the totes are for, letting the cal/mag break down. there are no bugs in it for sure in the first place because everything is bought in packages, but say there were, they would die from being inside the tote with no incoming food source. best thing to do is make sure there are no bugs to begin with. i let the cal/mag break down for about a month. so what ever soil you are using just put it in one of those rubbermaid totes for about a month to kill off the bugs in it. put some put some pulverized limestone dust(cal/mag, vitalime etc...) in it as well, it is benificial to the plants and calcium keeps ph stabalized. and about white flies and other flying insects that are a nuisance to a garden, more wind in your garden area means that they cannot land on the plant as easily and they cant lay eggs on the leaves, and put some white sand on the top of your soil like they said too. take precausions on what you are bringing to your grow room as well, say for instance you are walking through the woods one day and visit your garden afterwards and spider mites or aphids are injesting your plants the next day because the winds from your fans weren't blowing them away. i keep the winds pretty strong in my room, keeps them leaves swaying. i've never had problems with any bugs.
