WHITE WIDOW - How Long Left? day: unknown

Hey guys,

This is my first grow and I don't have a 30x magnifier.

I realise this is probably a bit of a lost hope but I've been away from these females for about 6 weeks and I've totally lost track of what day I'm on, I can't remember when I planted or when I switched to 12/12. I'm such an idiot!

If anyone can shed some light on how much longer they think I might have to go, it'd be much appreciated.

Watch for it to stop popping out white pistils and like 60 percent of pistils turn amber. Hard to say with a photo under hps lighting but your shit looks nice and I'd say at the most a couple weeks but as I stated its hard to tell by a photo and best to get a scope.

Thanks buddy! I really wanted to avoid spending any more money now it's before Xmas on 30x scope, but I guess I have to really.

Can someone explain to me the differences in leaving it longer? I think I read somewhere letting the THC go cloudy and all the pistils go amber have quite a different affect on you as opposed to say 60% amber. What are your personal preferences?

clear trichs no good, weak. cloudy trichs for an energetic high, let some go amber for couchlock(my personal fave). White widow is a 60/40 sativa/indica, sativa makes for a better energetic high in my opinion and maybe should be chopped at cloudy trichs.

Yea i would go heavy next time u feed them flowering fertilizer looks like their last boom so push it all the way! N yea it was hard to tell under the light u took photo but your girls look good

meh, touchy on the clear trics, check out bud you buy on the street, most of its clear. thc in its form on bud is in an unusable form. thats why we cure it. just because they are clear doesnt mean they are weak, it means they give off the clearest high. remember here that all trics will continue to progress after you cut it! so if you have cloudy(my fav) and chop, 1/4 or mor of them will turn amber by the time curing is done. and i just smoked white widow from my dealer and fuk! it did not give me an energetic high, in fact it made my vision cloudy, and couldnt really move too well, kinda off balance and just wanted to lay down. the sativa is generally more heady and energetic, but that also depends on the indica its crossed with. Origins traced back to Afghanistan, Morocco and Tibet. Great for making hash. More of a body stone. the ww i got from my dude had mostly clear tric, some cloudy. so the more it goes, the more couchlock youll get. the pistils amber, i assume you mean red, though some of this that i got has purple here and there. the pistils will turn red before the trics turn cloudy. your safest bet is cloudy. not too soon, and no risk of overcuring. BUT everything i say is mostly my opinion with facts thrown in. peace scopse

Widow wants at least 9 weeks, 10 plus one week is even better, trust me !

I have grown White Widow (Nirvana) several times, and have found that harvesting too early is a big mistake. The pocket magnifier by radio shake is a very useful tool for determineing just when to harvest. When I first see any amber trichs on the bud ( not the leaves, as the leaves turn earlier than the bud ) I figure I have 1 to 1 1/2 weeks untill its harvest time. Note: my personal preference is for a combination high, that is not 'sativa' like and not 'couch lock' either.
White widow gives me that all around good buzz, if harvested at the correct time. If the trichs show anywhere from 10 % to 20% amber, then it is ripe. ( at least for me).
I do not pay a whole lot of attention to the 'flower time' that various seed companies post on their home sites, as too many other variables play a part in determining just how long to flower. Temps, ferts, stresses, lighting, etc. all play their part in determining just when to harvest.

I have some strains that I have had to flower 3 or 4 weeks beyond the breeders stated timeline.

Invest in a scope, they are cheap. Certain tools are needed to ensure a productive and successful harvest, and a scope is one of them.

I dont have a link, but I got a 30x lighted scope off e bay for less than five bucks, shipping and all.
It is much faster and eaiser to use than the radio shack one(I have both).
