White Widow Height Discussion

Never grown WW before... my ceilings are 7.75 feet tall, but due to the resi, light, space in between lights, tables etc I only have 3.25-3.5 feet of available vertical growth. Have you grown WW that small and how was your yield? I am looking for 1 pound per 4X4 area, under 1000 watt lamps.

I have been told they double in height during flower and get a bit branchy... seems from researching on the net that's one of two of the Phenotypes - the other being one cola short compact plants.

Anyhow, I can rip out the tables in there and set up a new irrigation system, but it would be easier this way... I need to decide within a few days. Tell me about your WW - where did you flower? Where did they end up? What was your yield? Lights?

Was considering flowering at 19 inches and ending up with 38-45 inch plants. Anything above 40ish would need to be bent down likely. Am I better putting them on the ground or is that enough vertical growth for the Widow? I'm looking for a oz per plant. Thanks

4.5 max but white rhino grows only 3.2 max which one would you choose?

Most sources seem to be reporting a double in height during flower, but one guy on another forum is saying he got 4X growth in flower! Induced 12.12 at 12-15 inches and ended up over four feet tall! I hope mine don't do that!

Just goes to show how much doing the same strain over and over can really help you to predict what your plants are going to give you. In any case, I'd love some more input on this matter.

How do you pick out the pheno type you want for mothering when we're talking about what they do during flower in terms of streching? Wouldn't it be hard for us to know which one we want?

So I should expect these fuckers to double at least in size. Do they respond well to topping?

i did the ww from green house seeds

i think you should at least get 1.5lbs with 1000watts


i flowered mine at about 12"

and they usually end up 4-5 ft by chop time under 2 600 watters in a

5'x4' growth space

im growing WW right now im at 30 days in from germination and im currently under 1 150watt HPS. im currently at 10" with the one plant and im looking to get a good 2oz off my white widow. with 32" of height now with the available space of 50" should i start to flower now? i was considering just scrog or at least topping the plant. instead of single cola but im unsure what will do the best for me. my seeds are from seedsman.

I wouldnt go taller than 14" without flowering

should i top my plant or just throw it into flowering?

Started 12light/12dark with mine at 12", and it's now 32" 34 days into 12/12. I originally wanted to end at this height, but it looks like they just keep growing!

ive done both topping and no top. seems it yeilds the same, only if you top your colas will be smaller but you will have more of them rather than one monster of a cola.


problem with the monster ones is that they can foster bud rot.


atleast mine do but my largest top colas end up being longer than 12" and wider the 6"

I call them "2 liter coke colas"

I'm gonna have to top mine... seems like most of you guys are experience double, triple the height in flower. I can only have my plants 3.5 feet tall, so I think topping is going to be absolutely essential in this situation considering I'm receiving more clones a week from now that will need to be vegged for at least 10 days.

That means these fuckers will veg for like close to three weeks, they may get tall! A nice topping should slow them down considerably though.

Holy crap, I thought WW was a low growing pheno. With my system I will only have about 3.5' or maybe a little more to the absolute top. I had no idea these get that tall. I'm about to start a grow journal on my current WW grow.

Pimp ~ Seems two phenos of WW from my research... the ones that stay compact and extremely compact and dense and then the ones that stretch a butt load and become branchy - I have the branchy pheno... all from the same mom so I assume they will all exhibit those characteristics. I'm going to do a grow journal as well this round. Just got my clones yesterday, I'll start the journal tonite for anyone who wants to keep track of updates.
