My White widow Auto flower seem to be doing pretty good at 7 weeks my only concern is in the last few days i have had this growth stun on the tops and some lower areas and was worried this could be fox tailing. I am new to AF at this time and looking for any comments. Growing with a 450w/Viper LED at 16 in avg Temp 83 F. on a 18/6 cycle. Any suggestions are much appreciated.f-GROW-WHITE WIDOW af 7 WEEKS.jpg 26135074_10155816434136855_2058144018_n.jpg f-GROW-WHITE WIDOW af 7 WEEKS.jpg 26135074_10155816434136855_2058144018_n.jpg 26135074_10155816434136855_2058144018_n.jpg f-GROW-WHITE WIDOW af 7 WEEKS.jpg f-GROW-WHITE WIDOW af 7 WEEKS.jpg 26135074_10155816434136855_2058144018_n.jpg

A little on the warm side @ 83. Examine upper leaves for light stress and maybe consider raising the lights another 4". Excessive heat and light can cause foxtailing and thc degradation. There are strains that naturally foxtail. You can spot them easily since lower buds that you know for sure aren't heat stressed will foxtail, too. I run a Platinum 600 led. I think it pulls 340 watts at the wall and I need to run it 2 feet above my canopy or things go into a slow fry mode. A little higher gives you a nicer light footprint, too. Good luck!

Yea thanks for the advise much appreciated i will for sure raise the light for sure and see if i see any changes in the shoots coming off the tops. I have experienced fox tailing in indica in high heat conditions but never with leaves in the tails. any more suggestions or comments are appreciated.

Not a great pic for detail and I don't even remember what strain it is, but every bud on her and her sisters fox tailed under normal lighting...just a trait of the strain. Just for reference sake...PICT0001.JPG

Yea your fox tailing looks like my last grow fox tailing this new strain and possible fox tailing does not look the same im wondering if its just my buds are going through another developmental stage or are having a growth spurt. here a pic of my last grow tails as you see no leaves in the tails. Correct me if im wrong but leaves dont grow off the bud but off the stem correct? If you look in my first post there is leaves in the tails

I could be completely out in the weeds on this but my understanding is that stress induced fox tailing is a defense mechanism to protect the bud from which they are emerging. Think of fox tails as complete mini colas instead of errant calyxes . Like any cola, they may have a few fan leaves and certainly a bunch of sugar leaves. Does that make sense? I don't always transfer my thoughts to the keyboard very well ...

How's it doing? I meant to ask you how tall are your plants? I'm starting WWA. Seems like every breeder's description of their incarnation of WW varies.

It was not my plant it was a friends plant and after i went over there he had it growing in a 1 1/2 gallon ceramic pot with a hole in bottom the size of a half dollar long story short we had to do a emergency transplant into a 5 gallon it was in lockout cause he could not properly flush from the roots being so bound and the pot was way to small for this plant in its 7th week of flowering and it was in ceramic no way to breathe so only time will tell lol it was a chance he had to take either let it go and get really bad bud or replant and try to recover so we will see . I have not talked to him since the transplant ill let you know details tommorow.
