White stuff on the bottom of my rockwooled clones-mold?

Day 5 in cloning. Using a black tray with dome. clones sitting on bottom of tray not in a holder of any kind. Used Dyna Gro root hormone, I mist the dome and cubes, but i'm worried the cubes were to wet to start with. Looked on the bottom of the cubes for the first time today and notice some white stuff, it wiped off with a rag. dried off the bottom of the tray, and keeping an eye on it, should I be worried? +rep for any experienced help, thanks!

Mineral salts... I don't think so.
If it where mineral salts then they should have risen to the top of your cubes. I don't see how you could get that much salt buildup from watering cubes one or two times with almost plain water. If it is salt buildup then I don't think your clones will take. Your supposed to use VERY weak nutes/no nutes until you have white/white calluses on your stems.

The wrapped cubes you are using tend to be a little too wet. After your first soak,(before you stick your clones) you may want to give each of your cubes a little squeeze.

Did it look like little white dots about the size of a pin head? If so it's a week mold or mildew.

It's either a weak powdery mildew, the paper from the sides of your cubes, whatever eats the paper that comes with your cubes (mold or beneficial), pieces of the same white plastic that the clones come in, or an inoculant that comes with the rockwool. (heard that there is an inoculant that comes with these cubes but thought it was bullsh*t)

I clone plants for clubs in california.

Thanks man, but i'm confused now. the white stuff on the bottom of the cube came off easily with a dry rag. My cubes were totally too wet, I haven't been spraying, but i check the dome 1-2 times a day and there's scattered water drops on the bottom, would it hurt to squeeze the cubes? have I failed these clones, should i wait and see? They've perked up a little, i haven't used anything to prop them up at all. confused?

just wait and see. Don't squeeze them at this point. You should see roots by day 14. When you have everything dialed in then you should have over 90% success in 10-14 days. Some strains take 21 days to make it thru the bottom of the cube.

If you need finished clones asap then make another set. You can always throw out the second set if the first set takes.

Am I allowed to leave my phone number on a board?
