I remember reading over a thread like this when I was first thinking about growing and deciding between soil and hydro. This high maintenance part of hydro is part of what made me pick soil. I'd like you to go and check your pH products and tell me if they contain natural sources of acid/alkali eg. citric acid etc.

My ph down/up kit should be here within 10day. I am using lemon juice right at this moment..

That's your problem, citric acid, it lives off the stuff and will continue to do so until you get an inorganic pH product, phospheric acid like mine should do the trick.

Clean and disinfect your reservoir, as well as any airstone etc. that was even close to it
Clean off your root systems, leave no white squidgy survivors
Replace any citric acid products you're using ASAP

I am getting GH Ph adjustment kit ( most common one. blue and orange) should this work?

You need to keep on top of that mess of white, remove any and every trace as soon as you see it build up, make sure your tank remains clean and keep an eye on your roots, get phospheric acid based pH down asap, or hydrochloric as some people use. I think phospheric is more common

I can't confirm, I did a quick search and it contains both phospheric AND citric acid but apparently the quantities are a "trade secret"

With lemon juice, part of the problem is sugar. Sugars don't belong in hydro, even though they can be good in soil. You fed bacteria od\f some sort. As for how to get rid of them, I'll let wiser heads weigh in ... cn

<edit> I must also recommend against using hydrochloric as a pH-down. Cannabis doesn't really like chloride at those levels. Phosphoric is good, nitric is best imo, and sulfuric (available either as battery acid or drain opener) is quite serviceable. Handling either nitric or hydrochloric is complicated by these acids' tendency to fume. The fumes will play absolute hob with metals and electrical equipment if given any chance at all.

Trade secrets are things companies won't disclose because they can't legally protect the formulae etc. If they told people anyone could use them so they just choose not to.

My best advice would be to try to switch to a fully phospheric based ph down if you can, growth technology is what i use and it's 81% phospheric and no citric

No. Purpose-bottled hydro pH-down is usually phosphoric. That's good stuff. Hydrochloric (sold locally as "muriatic acid") is used as an aggressive lime/scale remover and concrete cleaner. It'll take pH down all right but has other issues. you're fine with what you're getting. cn

Other issues for hydrochloric/muriatic as mentioned: toxic (to Cannabis) and corrosive (to everything you own. I ruined some tools with the fumes once.)

Getting rid of white slime? Can't really help there. I would direct you to Heisenberg's thread on DWC slime control ... it's stickied at the top of the hydroponics subforum iirc. cn
