White Satin Smoke report

So I just moved to new city, have no green and started to come into the forums to at least look at some and I realized that after my first grow I just stopped coming here. So I grew some White Satin as my first grow a year or so ago successfully, with all the info and help I got off this site, and I feel like I should pay back by giving a good report of this strain and how everything went.

I ordered my Mandala Seeds from Dr. Chronic and got them really fast. Most of the seeds were broken from the container being too tight so I sent an e-mail and they quickly sent me some replacements at no cost.

I chose to go with White Satin for a few main reasons. 1: It was supposed to be easy to grow. 2: was low odor. 3: could be grown under low light. As it turn out, all were true.

I used 2 containers stacked on top of each other with the middles cut out as my enclosure for the grow. See Pic attached. And for lights I used a bunch of CFLs that I got from Walmart/Homedepot.

The grow went fairly well. I started with only 3 Plants hoping that 2 would be girls, but in the end 2 were males and I only had one girl left. See pic attached around 5 weeks. I think I only grew it for 5 weeks before flowing.

In the end the strain had some smell, but it was definitely contained to the room that it was in, and after harvest I was left with an ounce of buds. My friend who grow under HPSs were very impressed with how many buds were on the plant since it was grown 100% under CFLs and he ended up trading me some Sensi Star bud for the rest of my seeds.

For the curing process I meant to only water cur a small amount just to try it out, but I was so baked from the Sensi Star that I forgot and water cured everything. In the end I was left with bud that looked dark, had almost pure white ash, almost no taste, and had a very mellow high that quickly became my wife's favorite green. By mellow I don't mean weak. It was no White Widow, but I only had to smoke 1/2-1 bowl to be baked.

It was definitely a very different strain then the Sensi Star which was almost like lsd or shrooms in a way. The white Satin was a really good green to smoke in the day. It wouldn't make me sleepy like the Sensi Star, and my wife, as an artist, found it to be her favorite green to smoke to help her think about her art. Some strains like the Sensi star, can give me a headache if I smoke too much in the day, but the White Satin didn't give me this at all. The description on Mandala's website was dead on and I would recommend it to anyone looking to do a first grow under CFLs. Hope this was useful to some one out there. :joint:

Wot were the buds like? Light n fluffy or tight n crispy and how long did you flower for? Sounds like an interesting strain.
