White Paint VS Aluminium Foil

Hey all,
So doing a super simple super cheap set up for a mate he dosent want to spend really anything except on some lights and a fan growth conditions will be far from optimal to say the least anyway any suggestions on how aluminium foil would work I know it has great heat resistant qualitys and I guess reflective would it beat just white paint?? Any ideas or experience with either? Cheers heaps.

Yeah I personally see better results from investing in some decent tents but my mate is pretty tight nd wants the cheapest setup possible so we will see if the paint isent out of his budget haha

If he absolutely wants something "reflective" then just hit wally world and grab some emergency mylar blankets. They'll be in camping supplies. If you're not sure what they are just google space blankets or something. You see em frequently on survival shows. Damn things are like 3-5$ each and will cover a large area of wall if you wanna go ghetto.

Cheers that's a good idea man he's so tight tho dude we ended up grabbing him some paint and just a can of cheap spray paint lol I don't envy his plants when it comes to the quilty of his potting mix or nutrients

I suppose he'll figure out that you get what you put into it.
Nutes are nutes regardless.
Medium is one of those things he doesn't wanna skimp on. But hell I've grown on some odd stuff I picked up from home depot (even had time release) and had no issues. It's all in watering light when it comes to that.

White walls are easy and work well

Mylar also works good, but should be smooth/flat and tight to the surface so the fan doesn't flap it

Tin foil, same thing, it has to be smooth/flat

as for the myth that tin foil creates hot spots.... well maybe if using MH/HPS, but T5's or CFL's couldn't create a hot spot even if you tried

Cheap and easy to use- I like the R-TEC 1/2" styrofoam board. Full sheets if doing walls, 2'x4' pieces for moveable reflectors. Always cleans up to a nice shine.

I have two grow boxes that I put together super cheaply. Two rubbermaid containers, outside painted black, inside coated with three layers of white shower curtain (two dollars at walmart) and duct tape. My boxes aren't the sexiest things around, but they're getting the job done for a first grow, I think.
