I agree... Just trying to figure out- would it be more closely aligned with conflict theorist or fuctionalist view?

Naa this crap is always started to try and smear someone. Romney may be a capitalist but he isn't evil or some some weird cultist liberals want to paint him as. I feel the same about Obama, certain policies Obama has tried to enact I didn't like and Romney has helped block them. Internet bills IPAA and government mandatory ISP data sharing. Obama is hell bent to expand the patriot act as much as he can and it pisses me off.

There is no verification or authentication that identifies this as an actual utterance from Joseph Smith. It is merely a matter of speculation among members of the Church. It never was, is not now, nor will it ever be official church doctrine. We have our own urban legends and folklore. Some are allegories while others are just plain whoppers. The Seagulls and the Crickets story is one good example. If you want to know something about Mormonism, then ask a Mormon. We'll be as honest as we can about our faith. Without preaching, too!

Very fair and well said. I'm pretty much it complete agreement. As a liberal I too am disappointed with President Obama on civil rights, both here and abroad. And I have to say, if it was a republican in the White House imposing the policies that Obama has, liberals would be going nuts like they did when Bush enacted the Patriot Act.
