White Foam in Tote

Getting a new round going and have my system all ready for my next batch. Went to add the seedling to the net cup and saw my tote was foaming. Res is crystal clear.

I did make changes this run. Went from using H202 to poolshock. Also added monosilicic acid before any nutes and let sit 24 hours before the nutes added.

I did add more pool shock about 3 hours prior as it has been about a week since I last added some.

Thoughs?

Do you have any way to check the chlorine level? Pool test strips or liquid test?

I get that foam when I add Clorox to a storage tote to soak and clean my indoor garden containers.

I will have to check a little later. My system is 30 gals, so I added .9 grams which should be about 3ppm. Perhaps the aeration from the water fall is causing the newly added pool shock to foam?

unless your scale is off, .9 is correct amount

i've never had foam using shock. i never used MSA though.

could it be from when you cleaned out the system? did you use something that foams?

New revamped system. Had it running for 2-3 weeks to be sure no leaks. Once happy I started with a low dose nutrient regimen of 1/8 strength Jack's 321 for initial feedstock. The thing is the res outside the tent is crystal clear and looking great.

Well checked with strips and everything is perfect. PH is 5.87, EC is 525. Outside res cryatL clear, inside root chamber is foaming.

Doing more research it appears the Grow Green monosilicic acid I use has a wetting agent in it, which causes the foam I am seeing in my res due to RO water and possibly a higher pressure pump. GG recommends their product be added last to help prevent foaming.

On another forum there is thread detailing same thing, and they all indicate that the foam is nothing to really worry about. I guess I will be the guinea pig for this one.
