White foam in my res.

Hello all I have a question. What is the perfect res temp, I am currently running 4 dwc 5 gallon buckets, 600 watt hps air cooled hood, and a 6 in vortex fan and carbon filter. Plants are 3 1/2 weeks old. 2 Auto purple & 2 am auto all free last of my beans. I'm using the GH Organics line res temps never go above 68°f and never below 65°f. I keep getting white foam in my buckets after about 24hrs doesn't sting just smells like the notes. I can't figure out why I keep having this problem temps never go above 80°f and never below 71°f at lights out. Any and 'll help would be greatly appreciated.

No expert but, I think organics are made for soil.
Edit: that is just what I was led to believe though.
I would do a search or see if what your using is made for hydro.

I'm on my 2nd dwc grow now. My first one failed due to root rot and my temps were over 70f.
Now they are in cooler area and only 64f. Nice and white. Using hydro guard too.

resolution temp should be around 73F and i would set room temps to 75-78F.
dont know if it has to do with the foam, just saw the post.
dont know bout GH but my organic resolution mustbe changed after 2-3 days.
when i use Magnesiumoxide(not organic) foam builds in the bucket as well.

just sayin

yeah I found that out had it laying around and just thought I would use it up, been using it with no problems for a while. just can't understand why it just popped up all the sudden. I guess it's time for some new nutes

hey, just wanted to let you know that the foam is likely the by-product of beneficial microbes. in brewing ewc teas and compost teas this is a common thing. I was all worried about it for the first 6 months I was using bennies (which some organic products usually have).

if your products don't have any beneficial microbes(bacteria or fungi) then it might be old nutes or accidental contamination however as long as the plants grow vigorously still then i wouldn't worry at all.

thanks that's nice to know I do think there is bennies in there cause they are growing great. I'll try and get some pics up during lights out.

Some products foam more than others and a healthy Rez will foam a lot especially if your feeding them well. The plants produce sugars too which run back into the Rez and this also feed the bennies which in turn produces more foam as well but as far as why that one product produces so much foam, I can only guess it's a great environment for them to flourish and so they are.

great advice, I believe I've got it handled now, at any time there is to much foam in my res I can add a few drops of processed squid and it disappears instantly.
