So I'm going to try this again...

So this will be my 3rd grow. I am growing White Fire OG for the second time...

And Fire OG for the First time
IMAG0143.jpgIMAG0142.jpg

I picked these up from my favorite dispensary on 2/24/12 and these pictures are from a few days later...

I have been vegging these in my little veg box
IMAG0169.jpg

I am using Roots organic soil and I intend to grow mostly organically but I am not going to call this an organic grow due to the fact that I am using 1 or 2 various chemical supplements... I will primarily be feeding using sunleaves bat guanos and a few other organic supplements not including the 1 or 2 other chemical supplements... The veg box now has 3 23w 2700k cfls and 2 13w cfls which I do not know the Kelvin for a total of 6600 lumens... I a going to be flowering in a separate box under a 150W HPS
IMAG0066.jpgIMAG0193.jpg

In recent days and in the weeks to come I will be adding 3 21in T5HO to the bottom of the walls to help with under canopy light penetration... I have added 1 thus far to the box and I have actually moved both of my vegging plants into the flower box and have changed the timer and turned it into a veg box... But I digress I should catch up first before I start talking about upgrades and moves and all that kind of stuff...

So I am also going to be using LST to manage the size of these plants and maximize the yield for my space... My flower box is 20.5"X20.5"X48" and my HPS doesn't exactly sit flush with the top of the box so in actuality I only have about 32-36 inches of vertical growing room... Oooo and one thing I forgot to mention these plants will be transplanted into 3 gallon smart pots as their final home... But here are a few more pics from a few days later...

These are from roughly 6-8 days after coming home with me.

I finally decided to give these 2 their first feeding after 2 weeks because they seem to be very hungry showing some yellowing and purple steams... So I gave them a lite application of Mexican bat guano to the top soil and gently turned it into the top couple inches of soil and watered thru after. These are from a few days later the girls loved the food...

I think that is where I left off before the Data Loss...
If I missed anything please remind me or if you have any questions ask I'll do my best to help/answer to the best of my knowledge...
Ooo also if you see something I missed to do I would appreciate the help...

Hello everyone this is the most recent update. Here are a bunch of new photos from tonight including a few showing the addition of 1 T5HO and a proper ratcheting light hanger for my HPS :)IMAG0213.jpgIMAG0210.jpgIMAG0200.jpg

White Fire
IMAG0214.jpg This pic is a little miss leading but the light is actually at 16" and the plant is at 10".
IMAG0205.jpgIMAG0204.jpg
IMAG0203.jpg I really like vegging under this small HPS. Small = low temp = light is 6-7" from plant
IMAG0202.jpgIMAG0199.jpg

Fire OG

IMAG0209.jpgIMAG0208.jpg
IMAG0206.jpg

Both of my plants have really taken to the new HPS compared to the old CFLs they were under. They have both tightened up
on node growth and have started growing much faster...
It all makes sense I wish I could have another HID for vegging. If I could it would be a MH but I cant :(

AND! a new little addition to the party......
With the way thing have been with the strains Girl Scout Cookies, "The Cookies", Cherry Pie Kush, and Cherry Kush I
remembered that I had found a seed in a free gram of Cherry Kush that I received from the biggest dispensary in the bay
and decided to see if I could germinate it and grow it...
IMAG0201.jpg
It is about 10 days old from germination and I had originally put it in rock wool and then a few days later placed it in a plastic
mini pot that held about a cup of soil. The tiny steam on this little seedling was so frail I decided even tho so soon to transplant
into this clay pot and bury most of the spindly steam...

So I have finally gotten both transplanted in their smart pots... I didnt have enough roots organic left to transplant the Fire OG so before I started I went to my friendly neighborhood grow shop to get more but they didnt have any... So I go Happy Frog instead and already within a matter of 4-5 days I have decided I am not a huge fan... I like roots because of ease of use since you dont need to cut it with perlight or anything... Since I primarily feed via mixing my guanos with soil prior to top soiling the pots as to not create a mud layer... Its seems the Happy frog has a tendency to do that on its own... Luckily I had some roots left over and mixed it together with Happy Frog to help with this issue... I am a little concerned about hence for though since I have many feedings before this cycle will be done... Either way the girls are looking healthier by the day... I am starting to not believe that there is not as much nutrients as previously believed in the roots organic...

And sorry for this ahead of time I am not a huge fan of turning my HPS off after it has turned on and heated up so I will be trying to remember to get into my grow space and turn just the HPS off before everything turns on to take photos with just the T5HO's on as to not create distorted photos... So all that said updates may be a little spaced out...

And a few other additions...
I have been trying my hand at cloning but I am not very good at it... My last attempt I took 8 cuttings and 0 took so I have been very discouraged about the whole thing... So I researched and learned as much as I could from other threads on RIU and tweaked my method a bit... I still am not sold on trying again so I tried with 2 little cuttings this time and the only reason I even decided to try was because the branch I cut on the Fire OG was growing in the way of the future growth as I LST the plant around the pot... Instead of just trimming away the branch I thought why waste it and try to clone it... If it doesnt work o well plant pruned mission accomplished... If it does woohoo one less clone I need to acquire soon for my next cycle and I may gain the confidence to cut the WiFi for a clone also... Since all the cuttings I took last time died I dont want to cut any of the beautiful branches/canopy that is growing on the WiFi if my technique isnt going to work and is just a waste since it doesnt need to be pruned right now IMO. Hey I could be wrong. Let me know if you think I need to... And yet I digress again back to the clones... I took one branch and cut the top for one clone and used a middle section with on leaf and a new node shoot for the second... (I know this is not normal practice for the second I just dont like to waste a good branch that will make nice buds for a possibility of cloning seeing as I have a zero percent success rate at it and a pretty good success rate of growing cannabis to my personal liking) I am an Optimist and Realist with a mind for numbers... And I dont like my cloning numbers much lol

nice thread. i have found og is a harder one to clone. oh yea and fire og, fuck what a great strain. i did find it a little touchy to grow.

Thanks. I have heard that about OG's as well... I tried cloning White Widow and The White last time... Fire OG is one of my favorite strains and is always very expensive at every dispensary I go to. I have also heard this was because it was a pain to grow... So when I went to get new clones these two were the only strains I like that were in stock from a certain nursery... The clones from this nursery are always 2x-3x bigger then all the others... I have received 1 or 2 clones in a huge paper shopping bag before simply because the dont fit in regular brown paper lunch bags or the boxes that they have... I figured with Fire OG being a touchy plant itself and the fact that OG in general is hard to clone if they root I did something right

So I wasn't planning on doing an update today but today I decided to go and purchase the 3rd and final T5HO for my box and I thought I would share...

Before...

Plus 1
IMAG0213.jpgIMAG0210.jpgIMAG0200.jpg

And all 3 forgot to take a pic with just 2...

IMAG0240.jpgIMAG0233.jpg

This box is 20.5" X 20.5"X 48"... These should give me plenty of under lighting... They also have 6400k "blue" grow bulbs so I should have a good mixture of light spectrum with the HPS...

And here is a little update on the girls...

I just fed both of them with what I thought was going to be a little hot guano/water... Essentially a tea but I don't strain it since I top soil anyway... But anyway they both loved it and didn't burn at all...

Sorry the HPS was on and my back was starting to aggravate me after mounting the T5 and I couldn't take it out from the back of the box again... Pictures was kinda a last minute idea after I was putting things back in their homes...

Last night while watering and checking on my plants I have noticed that only after 9-10 days the WiFi has a few nice and healthy white roots growing through the bottom of the smart pot... It took 2 weeks in my last grow...

19 Days till my favorite holiday... Gotta save a zip for that day it is always tradition...

But back to the journal

I have been feeding with Mexican bat guano and started mixing in a bit of the Peruvian seabird to give additional P in preparation for transition... I think I am going to switch these girls over to 12/12 probably some time in the middle of the week haven't decided on an exact date... I have one hell of a green thumb and read my plants fairly well of course getting better as days go by... With that said mostly everything I do I do by eye except for a few additives (Bio Bizz Bio Heaven, Snow Storm Ultra, Bud Blaster (with teaspoon), GH CaliMGic, and molasses) which I measure with eye droppers because these are the things that could be toxic to any plant in too high of a quantity... Maybe not the molasses but it is way easier to deal with then trying to pour... Also last night and today I did give the girls a little bit of a trimming of some leaves to help with airflow and light penetration...

Cherry Kush from seed... I just started with a light feeding regiment with this one with just Bio Biz Bio Heaven and I am already seeing the effects. I was watching the new set of leaves grow last night. Every couple hours I was checking on it and I could see a noticeable amount of growth...

So I have a question I could use some opinions on... Whats the best way to switch from an 18/6 grow cycle to a 12/12 cycle? I have tried both 1. 24 hours of darkness and then start 12/12 and 2. Reducing the hour directly to 12/12 by pushing the start/lights on time back 6 hours... Any suggestions and/or opinions on the matter? Since I have only tried each of the above once I cannot make a decision from my results because its to small of a sample to judge from so I would appreciate any advice from someone who has more experience in the matter.

Okay no advice or opinions cool... I decided to go with jumping straight into 12/12 with no extended dark period... Today will be the 3rd day of transition. Hopefully with this journal and a few more over the next few grows I will just figure it out for myself... Ill get around to an update with pics sometime once they start to show flowers...

The White Fire from my very first grow so this is the standard I set for myself to match with my current White Fire...

So both plants are filling out pretty nicely so far in transition, and I can see the stretch happening day by day...

On a separate note 2 weeks ago I posted a pic of two cuttings and I am happy to say that both cutting have started rooting!!

I did something right... Went from 0% success rate to 100%

So I guess its about time for an update...

I am now officially in the middle of the first week of flowering and things have stopped stretching for the most part which I was a little surprised about. I thought they would have gotten taller... All things seem to be going well for the most part. The White Fire seems to show signs that there is to much nitrogen in the soil, but I dont plan on adding any more in substantial quantity so I think it will be ok. The Fire OG seems to be doing a bit better and seems to be a few days ahead of the WiFi and is showing a nice amount of flower production...

On another side note, both my fire og clones that I got to root died :( and I have learned FFHF is toooooooooo hot for little clones...
On the bright side MY FAVORITE strain became available as a clone!!!! MK ULTRA I am so serious about this I am going to grow it for as
long as I can. I don't ever plan on flowering either clone until I have healthy viable replacement mothers from new clones. As long as I don't mess up
again oopps... I did go and buy another bag of roots organic for my new clones. I also got another White Fire clone which I am going to mother and
take clones from. Hopefully! I am going to be starting a new thread/Journal about my MK Ultra grow soon...

Happy late 420. Hella late. Was stumbled across your wifi thread. I would've been all over it if I would've known it was here. I'm running fire alien urkle. Wanted to know how wifi came out. Could you lemme know. Thanks

I have had a lot of failures since this thread has started and have just gotten back on track including the grow in this thread I have had lost 2 and a half grows... And I have just finished with my fourth cycle after the grows in this cycle and I have moved on from growing these strains... I have moved to Mk Ultra as the primary strain I am growing with an occasional WiFi from time to time which at the moment has been suspended because i flowered my mother plant and no longer have any vegging at the moment... I will Probably start a new Journal soon for my Mk Ultra over this winter... And maybe Ill include my late fall outdoor flower cycle...
