I caught one of these in the face Snook fishing when my buddy didn't pay attention to his back cast.
Talk about buried hooks.
Luckily it didn't get me in the blinkers !

To put traps up on your property is stupid and illegal. Just because its your land does not mean that no one has permission. If you have roads or water or gas lines on or near your property then there is a right if way. I bet money your deed list some type of right away.

The electric company doesn't need permission if their power lines are over your property. Gas and water the same.

Someone could be legitimately lost.

Like I said there are a hand full of reasons for someone to be on your property without permission.



I grew up in the sticks. Literally "hours" for police or ambulance response. No need for traps.


You are so worried about some pot that you could end up with a charge. That hook catches the jugular or gets septic and the person dies, you can be charged.


Believe what you want but to set a trap that could hurt an innocent person is fucked up.

No1 : im all for home defense if you feel threatened in any way to yourself or family
No:2 if your growing on public land illegally and you wanna kill someone or maim someone with traps your a fucken idiot
No:3 if you are legal and you have to protect your crop from rippers so be it but you need to make the decision instantly ..is this just some teens looking for an easy rip to make a few bucks out of or are these guys carrying and after everything i have ? Obviously this one is harder to judge straight away but id hate to see someone shot n killed that only cared about what he could put in his back pack to dry n smoke n maybe sell a few oz of to buy some beers

Yes, a sense of proportionality makes sense.

I would reluctantly use deadly force to defend my life, loved ones etc.

I would try hard NOT to USE deadly force to defend my property if I didn't think my life was threatened etc. in the process. I'd probably weigh the circumstances and consider all the options first.

However, I confess I don't mind reading stories where granny blows away intruders intent on mayhem.

Speaking of fishing, many years ago I DID defend myself and a friend who was deathly afraid of dogs, from a pack of dogs intent on fucking us up good with my fishing pole. Had that Ugly Stick slicing hound dog noses pretty good until they got the idea to run along. Got bit a couple times in the bargain. We should have known to turn back when we first heard the banjo music.

Killing someone for any reason other than self defense is murder. The gangster or cowboy mentality needs to go the way of the dodo bird. Thinking it's cool to hurt or kill another human is barbaric, if you think any object is worth more than human life you should be locked up for being dangerous. No one wants a person like that anywhere near children.

I would never use a hook on any public land,an its not always weed the crack heads are look ing for I have thousands of dollars tools in barns?rippers get what they deserve:bigjoint:

Good point. Killing in self defense is one thing, murder is another. Of course many people have been indoctrinated that government actions are exempt from that axiom.

Although locking somebody up for what they think, might be a bit extreme.

Had to laugh here.
Thumper hears noises in his barn loads double barrel fires through through doors as rob is leaving...apparently rob felt bad that he didnt refill the lawn mower with gas so he snuck back in and refilled everything rob had that took gas to pay to do a gd deed....now rob is laying on the ground full of buck shot

For your average mmj backyard garden there is definitely some other ways to protect the crop.

Only people out rippin small gardens would
Probably just be your local teens.

Easily preventable with basic precautionaries, dog, surveillance, gates, and a tent set up.

Never ran into rippers thankfully, but I still have a small air rifle that would barely harm someone unless they were shot in the head.

I would never just blindly shoot it at someone, I may or may not shoot the POS in the leg to send a message to not come back haha, it's only a small BB.

Did you ever think that the ripper don't know its a bb gun and his buddy sees onley that black gun.Guess what he think your going to kill his buddy and he has a real gun and then he just kills you in sealf defince??If your going to pack a gun you better pack a real one for that dam bb gun could get you killed.I bet if that happen your family would kill the next ripper? T hats why if you come across a patch just move on keep your mouth shut and no harm come to no one..YES we cought around 60 rainbow trut today 12-15 inches long,there good eating deep fried just skint and guted with the heads off.deep frien in a good batter...ky..
