Which Pots Are You Using?

I've used the plastic bags so don't have to clean them but the roots could look better!

a plus on the fabric pots is they will not allow fungus gnats in anywhere but the easily controlled top soil.

Airpots are also very good, but there cost is just to much. I buy my 2 gallon fabric pots for $1 each and at that price they are disposable, although they are definetely re-useable if you wanted to

If youve only ever used plastic pots, do yourself a favour and try atleast one plant in a fabric pot (peferably HydroFarm brand if possible)

^^ Ditto ^^ Those fabrics grow fantastic root balls. I run mine through the washer and have some that are like 3 years old, still working fine. Cheap, durable/reusable, you can grow big plants in small pots, less medium with same or better results. No downside imo.

20170909_173721.jpg Straight from cloner to Dixie cup to final destination, 7 gal bucket. I Never transplant from bucket to bucket unless your using soil amendments. My little outfit at 21 day flower, slightly defoliated on indica strains. Bonnie plants soilless bale, slightly sweet end with organics and GH nutes.

I most likely said "any air pot" somewhere above.

That should be clarified. "Any fabric pot" is a better statement. Air pots of the funky looking holes and odd texture.....Do work quite well...
I'm deeply invested in Plant warriors and normal plastic... "I", feel no "need" to change. I yield quite fine! How you feed makes as much difference.

But ya'll can keep your fabric pots......Do what works for you........Good place for that statement....

in my small circle of associates, i have been trying to get them all to use airpots over the years. i had to pull teeth to get them to finally put the orange buckets down and use smartpots, bear in mind i am the second youngest in the group, so i cant possibly know what i am talking about. i figure they are just wiser than i & let me experiment, then reap the benefits of my trials & errors.

Green houses I go from cup to 1 gal plastic then into 5gal smarts ....after that I take a razor slice the 5 down the side in a few spots and sink the whole thing into a giant smart pot or my raised bed ......no issues and I get smart pots in bulk for next to nothing where I'm at ......but I also shop at one place and with everything I buy each year ....I have a feeling the store owner still does pretty good hooking me up with 5 gal smarts at around a buck a piece....lol

i guess i'm old school, i start in dixie cups, go to 2.5 qt garden pots, then 5 gallon hempy buckets, then to 10 gallon hempy buckets to flower in. i actually do it more for the room than for the benefits of up potting, i have a limited amount of room and having 6-8 plants in 5 gallon buckets all the time would be highly inconvenient
