First thank you to @DrKiz for getting me to this point...(I got the boss a steak, forget foot massages lolol)

Looking at two Meijiu bars and also a kingbrite. All fairly similar but in trying to decide I noticed Meijiu has the a8 ($740) which lists as 650 watts without UV and IR but they also have the octopus bar($800) which is listed as 600 with UV and ir. Both are running the meanwell HLG 600H-48B driver. Kingrbite($624) has a similar light to the octopus with 600w with UV and ir but comes with Cree instead of Osram. I am admittedly new to these new style qb boards/bars but trying to learn. If I understand things correctly, the power comes from the driver so shouldnt they all be 600? I cant image not having UV an ir is like supercharging the driver to put out 50 extra watts lol.

I did send an inquiry to our friend Doris at Meijiu to see what see says but I will be surprised if she can answer it like you all can

I think the decision is between the a8 and the kingbrite really as I type this all out and look at it. Cant seem to justify an extra 180 for osram over cree which would be the difference betwen the octopus and the kingbrite

I’ve had nothing but good lights and service from meijiu for almost 3 years. I’d get the A8 personally.

No need to spend the extra money on the 301H diodes either just go with the 301B if it’s a option.

I have the UV/IR Majo and the Majo with with reds. Don’t notice a difference, it’s only been a few runs.

They’re side by side so there is that.

I’d get the MJ-650. More diodes per bar than the Majo, and better spacing .. the fixture is larger. Fills a 4x4 perfect. Thus the extra shipping costs.

the kingbrite has 1280 total diodes in a 5 bar config the Meijiu A8 has 2048 total diodes in an 8 bar config. if they are both running a 600w driver id go for the most diodes for the softest driven watt per diode numbers.
