I don't want to go to big with my operation to the point where I use enough electricity to caught. USA :blsmoke:

Would dedicating, say ,2500 watts to lights on a 18 hour schedule be enough to spike me electric bill to the point of suspision? This is in a 3 bedrm apartment.

DJ,

I'm an apartment grower.

I use a 600W HPS, 192W T5 and one 42W + one 23W CFL. 857W or so total. But then add the fans and an Ozone Generator... I'm just under 1000W.

No problems yet.

I did switch all my incandescents to CFL's. And vacuumed the back of the fridge etc.
It's winter here now, Michigan. My apartment is relatively small so I use the heat from the bulbs to supplement the heat in the apartment. (Cool Tube and what-not.)

That's all I've got to say.

2500 is alot for growing unless were talking dozens of plants. if its just for you id say one 1000 for flower and a 250 or 400 for seperate veg. if its a commercial crop id suggest going outdoors

as long as ur paying ur bill they wont care!...its when u dont pay ur bill is when they start wondering whats going on!!!
exactly....

I just moved and am going from 4x1000w setup in a house to a 1000w setup in my apt.. shouldn't be an issue....bill was $800/month at the house though so Im guessing about $150-200month for 1000w

The guy i get my clones from runs 8k watts for flowering in an apartment . So i would think anything lower than 3k would be ok . He could be barrowing some of the power from neighbors tho . Not sure .
Its easy to "barrow" power in an apartment too . Pop out one of your wall sockets and look for one on the wall behind it . :)

Do you get your own bill for your apartment or is electric included with rent as if its is then you might wanna be careful. It costs me to run 1 1000 watt ballast 24 hours a day $65 a month. 1 1000 watt light can do easy 15-20 plants so 3 you could do a 100 easy.Your bigger worry will be smell so make sure you have amble carbon scrubbers in your apartment since you have more neighbors and hopefully your on the top floor or no one is living above you as the smell heat and hum if not digital ballast will be give aways

I do not get my own electric bill for my apartment, I definetly could ask for it.
plants under 2 1000 hps would yeild a pound of grade AAA bud in about two months?

Ive got a 400wat hps with bagseed starting now, and Ive been expecting a qp......

anyways if I setup two 1000 watt lights and get two pounds of AAA that would be amazing. Id definetly invest the money if I could do that. Ill stick with my 400watt for now to see how I do with the first grow.

it's serious shit to grow in the US huh?!where i am (Bulgaria) they will never get suspicious for that.they just want their money and don't care why your bill is higher than usual.in the matter of facts there is no usual.last month they made equation to the year bills and I had to pay twice than "usual".that fucking bastards .......
