Which HUMIDIFIER to get?

About to chop, need a humidifier for drying process to reach that magical 60% in a 10x15 room. RH right now is 50-55, when it cools down next week it'll be 40%.

Hit me up with your suggestion! Gonna run to Walmart for one, no idea which to get.

Damn thought I'd get away with ditch/creek water ;-) Haha, you mean like distilled h2o?
When I first started growing, I'd use those atomizer humidifiers.. I soon found that my AC filter was clogged, plants had a white chalky film on them, the fan fins were coated with it...looked like drywall dust. It was the water I was using, which was well water. I had to clean everything up and switch to a swamp cooler type, and even then I always used my mini splits condensate water to refill it so it would run clean and not get buildup on the honeycomb media.

I don’t understand. How does an evaporative prevent minerals from being evaporated? If you put tap water in either or you will get build up.
It's not that.. it's that atomizers break down the water to a finer "vapor" that makes it easier to build up on plants and components. Evap coolers just send out humid air, and alot of those minerals get captured by the honeycomb media, but using RO or condensate water does help. I used well water for a long time in my evaporator cooler and had to replace the honeycomb media... I set it outside upright to dry, and when it did, the wind blew it over and it split like a slab of granite.

The only low humidity I've ever had is a 2 week period with seedlings when I run veg room using mh light.

I used a towel with a dripper set up, a 5mm tap, tube, a bottle and siphoned it until the towel was damp but not dripping.

If you run distilled or RO water, you won't get that film like with tap water. At least, that has been my experience. As soon as I throw tap water in though, errthing starts looking chalky.

Got a fan behind it or something? I keep forgetting that most of you guys are home growers.... I got all this big ass equpiment. My evaporator is like 20 gallons.... slowly getting used to getting back to tent growing.

Awesome thank you. It’s a water vapor vs water droplet concept. It seems so long as you use RO/distilled you’re probably not going to notice it.

this blog here explained it well:

here’s a study for anyone interested. It talks about the how ultrasonic humidifiers can affect health.

Ok well I went into Walmart & got an ultrasonic cool mist + Distilled water before I saw every one elses post. Think with distilled I'll be ok?
