Wheres the pollen???

I took clones from a mother plant that I really liked. I allowed them to veg for 5 weeks. During the last 10 days, I treated 1 clone with colloidal silver. I then flipped to 12/12 on 8/1 and treated said clone w CS for 7 more days. Both clones were already showing preflowers, but really began flowering roughly 8/7.

Once they began flowering, the plant treated with CS was removed and placed in a grow cab on its own. This cab, being intended for this purpose, is powered by almost 100 watts of cfls. The temps of this cab r in the high 70s. There is very little air movement, besides the small pc fan for the exhaust and a passive intake. The pc fan is only being ran at 9 volts so that it is not running at full power. Male flowers were showing all over the plant, and really kicked into high gear within 3 days.

The plant is now covered in full blown "bannana" clusters (8/19), with male flowes that have been "bursting" and opening for the past 3 days. Underneath, I have placed paper plates to attempt to collect the pollen, but there isnt any pollen to collect? I have taken note as to how they look prior to bursting, and plucked 4-5 of them off. I carefully peeled them back to try and remove sone of the pollen, but again, there is no pollen to collect? WTF!!!!

What am I doing wrong? Are the flowers still not mature enough? Am I missing a step? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have heard of this happening but I have no explanation. What kind of CS did you use and do you know the ppm?

It is preferable to have sufficient lighting such as a compact flouroescent fixture, or if "Direct" sunlight from a window source is available that may also be adequate.
The male plant MUST Remain on a 12/12 schedule.
Through Experimentation I have found that if the male does not have ample lighting it will in most cases cease to finish the flowering cycle followed by complete shutdown of pollen production within several days.

Surely your 100watt CFL should be enough though, but it seems that other major changes in the environment could cause it to stop actually producing pollen.

I ordered exactly what u told me to order, Tiresias Mist (spelling?). The male flowers r there and are coming on strong! I have been growing for over ten years, but have always killed males at first sign of sex, so i have no experience with male flowers or pollen, only the rare herm nanner.

I wonder if it is because the plant that is being used came from a fem seed itself?

it is definitley a bummer, but at least i now have some experience with it, and my "breeding/male" cab is now built! Lol

I will just keep letting it go and continue to develope at thus point. Maybe it will start throwing pollen soon. If anything, I guess i will just store it until my next run.

I figured 100 watts should b enough. The plant is less then an inch away, havnt had any streatch and the flowers are definitly growing well.

Yeah, I too have read that sticky more then once.... Just gettinf frustrated at this point. I have $200 on my prepaid credit card, was bout ready to just say fuck it and order a couple packs of beans! Lol

Oh yeah I know the feeling. I mean once I saw balls I figured the rest would be the easy part and hoped on growing my own cross next round... Starting to look like I'll be ordering seeds again.

I did get some pollen but only from two balls while I had over a dozen. The rest seems to have vanished into nothingness.

I do have a 5 pack of TGA Plushberry Regs, maybe start a pollen chucking experiment with them!

Besides that we're not the first to use TM on plants from fem seeds I don't think that's even relevant.

I started spraying 6 days before the switch to 12/12, stopped 19 days later. Planned to do the 21 as recommended but simply forgot the last two times. I think it differs per strain and transition time and that it's better to spray a bit longer than needed than try and save on an already cheap product. The top of the branch, the main flower, is more female than male.

If I really don't get any seed from this (still don't want to see reality ) I'll probably go for Sugar Punch again like last year, maybe get lucky and get some pollen from a pink pheno.

Mine are more male then female. Prob 90% male! Just gonna let he/she keep goin a bit n hope for the best! I will keep the thread updated if there are any changes as I hope you will do the same.

Yeah please do, and I will. Got a couple of balls about to burst open, I'll hopefully be able to post good news about. After this setback it would be even more satisfying to succeed.

Oh, and I contacted Dr T, asked if they can provide possible causes for empty sacks. I'll post if they reply.

UPDATE: we have pollen! IDK why, but it seems there is only pollen in like 1 out of 5 or 6 male pods. So tgis may take a bit longer then expected to collect! Pulled like 30 pods and only got a small dusting out of 5 or 6 of em. I out them in a shallow dish and in a cabinet. I think i will have to collect pods for like 5 or 6 days in order to get enough to be worth it.

This was my test run. I used WWxBB for this round, to work the kinks out and make sure it works. I have clones of 4 other strains that I plan on doing fem seed runs with also. I will wait to be sure that they "take", then i will order more CS.

I am also gonna dust a small branch of blue venom (WWxBlueberry) with the pollen from the White Widow x Big Bud. That will make the f1s mainly WW, but would love to capture the blue berry taste with the big bud yields!

I am wondering if you need more light to get a lot of pollen?
I have sprayed plants from fem seeds and had more pollen than I knew what to do with.

Look into saving some pollen. There are tons of articles about storing/freezing pollen.

Yeah man, i am thinking more light will help. I still barely have enough to do anything! I used what I had on a couple popcorn buds, but i think i will b lucky to get 20 seeds! Lol. Soooo i picked up a 200 watt 9 band LED yesterday, gonna give it a go as my breeding box is 2 small to handle the heat from an HID. Will update in a couple days if there is any significant progress. I really want to try a couple crosses so I am hoping u r right about light/pollen!

~ ordered some more TM today and will try this all again!

And if they don't reply... expected at least a reply. Mentioned it wasn't a complaint, asked if they could provide some causes for the sacks to have a minimum to sometimes seemingly zero pollen. They offer a 100% money back guarantee if I remember correctly. Expected at least a friendly reply...

Still no reply, huh?

So I upgraded my lighting and within 2 days pollen production went up! I was able to get about 1/4 tsp, and I dusted a few flowers. This morning i checked on them and I have withered, browning hairs! I am going to collect more pollen tonight in and give the girl another dusting.
