Where to stay for the Cup?

If you were coming in from out of state, where would you stay for the Cup? I am not rich, so options under $200/night is what I need. We are not opposed to staying up to 20 miles from the event site? We just want a safe spot. Cansome of you locals give me some ideas please?

Tough one to answer because it depends if you are able to drive when you leave the venue. If you need to be able to walk back to your room then downtown is needed, otherwise I like the Hyatt Places, but they are not downtown. Depends... How are you planning to get around? Car, cab or foot? Money matters too, hotwire, expedia and priceline are all great, try tossing a couple hotel names out and someone can probably tell you if it is good. You will probably have a great (epic) time in Denver.:-P

Staying north of Denver will probably save you a few bucks. Going south may be a bit nicer, but you will pay for it.
Do your searches, let us know what you are looking at before you reserve and we will tell you if it is a good area/ place to stay.
And consider your tolerance is really a good idea, cause you may not be able to drive leaving this thing, i have seen more people stoned out of their gourd their than anywhere else i have ever been. They couldn't walk, so driving was well out of the question. It is 2 days, if there is 2 of you maybe have a "sober" driver who doesn't over do it, then switch for the next day.

what do you say chef? lets do it buddy, bed and breakfast and ALL the sex wax you consume while on the premises! we'll have to charge more than 200 a night though for sure, 200 a night for the folks with tents to pitch out back with ALL the sex wax you can consume while on premises! right chef?

We are discussing travel options at the moment. $138 each way to fly SW. I have a 1/2 price 1 way, so I can get there and home for $200 + taxes. We talked about driving too. Gas will cost us about as much as flying. Is the area around the Cup venue fairly nice? Restaurants and such within walking distance? What hotel would you choose within walking distance? I saw some La Quinta Inns but everything seemed pretty budget around the venue. Thanks!

Dude I'm in! That's like one of the best ideas I think I've ever heard.. absolutely genius. Perfect name, perfect buisiness model, and imagine the demand... just like u said people would be in the parking lot just to get in. Think about the tourism draw...

Hell yes. I'm tired of hotels reminding me that there is no mmj allowed on the premises. I can see it I guess with kids and such, but a place like this wouldn't have to make any apologies. Only problem would be the no smoking law in Colorado... I don't think that is just for Tobacco smoke (I should go research that, but I despise reading law text), but there's always vaping.

Depending on what the DOJ comes out with on 64, I may have some funds to invest if you all are interested and not just foolin around :-). Probably get me divorced, but might get me rich too... And stoned lol

I'd like to get some investors together and buy that silly huge(and haunted!) hotel up in estes, that would make a nice location.

Not a couple of million (I wish... I'd be on the fuckin beach already), maybe 1/20th that amount is what I would be willing to risk. Seriously though, you can get investment capital, but the terms will suck unless Obama gives the green light. Wall Street is foaming at the mouth to find a legal doorway to invest in the weed boom.

oh yeah, the Bates Motel would be perfect. Only problem would be the town itself is rabid anti-mmj.... It was their trouble-making sheriff on the task force right? Sorry bro, but things will change with time. You've got a great concept here.

I was thinking about the wake-n-bake trying to get to sleep last night.... You know every hotel lobby should have some ridiculously large potted plants.... and you could run "weed tours" for the tourists. 64 says you can't smoke and drive - don't say shit about smoking and riding if I remember right lol might have to buy the bus driver a gas mask

That neighborhood is kind of sketch depending which way you go. Anyone walk that area? It has always been a drive-by for me, but I don't like staying at LaQuintas, preferring Courtyards or Residence Inns, but they are quite a hike from here. Not impossible to walk, but a hike. Anyone got a suggestion for the original question? There are a couple people asking me the same thing but I really don't know that area well enough to suggest a place in walking distance for a stoned person. :eyesmoke:

Probably want to stick with Denver or Colorado Springs metro areas for hotels... If you get too far out of town the bible thumpers will have a conniption fit if they get a Whiff of Mary Jane in their hotel and cause you grief no end...
