Ok I purchased a cabinet at home debot for 99 bucks. It's about 6 feet tall, 30 inches wide, 20 inches deep.

Should I cut a hole directly at the top of the cabinet to exhaust?

Exhaust up high, intake down low. Heat rises, cold sinks.

If your going to do a cabinet grow you'll need an intake a few inches above ground level & an exhaust at or near the top,it's best if both the intake & exhaust are powered.

2 4" inline duct fans from home depot would be perfect & cost about $25 each, you can NEVER have too much air flow, circulation is for more than just reducing heat.
