like a 'roach' how did it get its name, nd y is it called tha? dutchie is another the list go's on.

Dutchie comes from Dutchmasters! The Pennsylvania Dutch produce cigars for what this nation has brought the marijuana world. BLUNTS! Always got a dutch to clutch.

Dutchie is a bowl of rice and meat that is part of rastafari tradition to share with close ones. It was used in a song where the word was used instead of herb because of censorship issues. People didn't know what dutchie meant, but knew what the song was about so they started calling a j dutchie.

i believe the term roach was used due to it being the "butt-end" which one would generally step on(like roaches) but thats only what I BELIEVE....do no take this as fact as i'm not that smart...lol

Most terms for pot (including that one) come from 30's jazz culture. Jive man, are you hep,gate? This argot was taken over by the beats in the fifties and passed on to the hippies in the 60's. Other terms from jive are tea, gauge,reefer ,and dope itself. Ganja is Hindi for cannabis,by the way.

Roach is old Tex-mex I think, Like the song "La Cucaracha" which is all about dope smoking after all...
