where can you get rockwool cubes?

Hydro store should have had them. If not, then it wasn't a very good hydro store.

Your other choice is online. Shipping usually costs more than the price of the rockwool unless you order other items.

Try the hydro store again. The hydro store I go to has pallets of them in all sizes as a huge display just when you go in. Try the Rapid Rooter instead of the rockwool; they look like dark brown sponges. I've had pretty good luck with those over the rockwool.
