Where are the forums/threads for vapes?

Friend has one, I tried it and liked so I bought one. Need some trouble shooting advice. when I type various forms of vape in the RIU search engine I come up with totally unrelated results. I have googled but would prefer input from you guys.

LOL A friend of mine had one and I hit it and loved. So I bought one. You grind bud and use that. Has a cartridge for wax/concentrates, but reviews say it doesn't work that well.

For what I use it for it Works fine, but a couple of questions I can't find the answer to. Been looking on "the vape critic" site. He's really big on vaping weed at the right temp. But I'm just having a couple of minor noob issues with it.

How are you packing it and at what temps?

Well thanks mang! glad I just bought it LOL. I liked it when I tried it. The problem I'm having is how much flower to put in it. And since it vapes when turned on, do you have to smoke it all in one session or can you hit it a couple times then come back later and hit it again, or do you have to smoke all that you load in one sitting?

I'm not packing the chamber with as much as it can hold, which is about 1/4-1/2 gram I'm guessing? I looked up how to pack so I grind fine, make sure it's dry (as per instructions) and pack firm, but not so tight that vapor can't circulate, if that makes sense.

Trouble is, I am not sure if, when I turn it on (it heats to temp in 30 sec) that I'm cooking the entire batch. No way can I smoke that much by myself in one session. I'd be on the floor.

Temp: between 350-370.

You might have to get a feel for the different temps and packing it either loosely or tightly...trying to find that sweet spot . You should be getting no smoke for a proper vape hit...if so back it off.
You should be able to take a few hits here and there..and then take the weed out and throw it in a pipe and smoke it again

hmmm, I'm trying to get away from smoke. it's really bothering my throat. Also need something portable and discreet. Can't have bongs etc in the house right now. I hardly had any smoke come out of my hit at this temp, however was a bit harsh still. Should I lower or increase temp? Reading about it, but opinions on these guys' web sites are all over the place.

Vaping is effectively distillation: different compounds come off at diff temps. So at lower temps you get cook off the higher volatile THCs, esters and then different ones as you raise temp. The high can be influenced by this( which is one reason some folks say the high is different than smoking). If you vape at the higher temps most of the compounds cook off at the same time so the high is closer to "normal" but without combustion products.
Don't overload it as the taste will blow if you co back later to finish it. Keep it very clean, taste and coil life

yes, it blinks when heated to the temp you select so you know it's ready. It hits fine. I can only handle about 3 though, so I don't know how much weed to put in it. If i'm putting enough for say, 10 hits, but only taking 3, it vapes the whole chamber right? Mine is marketed as a hybrid convection/conduction, but the reviews say it's not a true convection but a conduction only. Not sure what that means for me.

So higher temps equal stronger high? I read that thought it's counterintuitive, that lower temps are better. I thought the high was mellower than when i smoke it. the weed now is so strong that when I smoke the conventional way I am just too high after 2 or 3 hits. This was a much mellower high and much gentler on my throat. Cant do the smoke lately.

I doubt a portable one can conduct, it works by convection hence the visible coil. You'd have to open the chamber and stir the herb around
