Hanging is somthing Ive learned over the past 2 years that is complete b.s, You can take your trim buds put them flat in an open box w/newspaper under it and leave a fan blowing for perfect results.A good dry should take 5-10 days. When the stem snaps from bending it its dry.Put the bud in some jars and take as needed. The longer in the jar the more it cures and more powerful it gets. Leaving it in a jar will also give back moisture if you feel youve overdryed.

the curing process involves more than just putting it in a jar and taking some out when you want to smoke.

your pretty much right except its much easier to hang the plant or some people chop it up to main branches and hang em like that.
and you cant tell me that they dry better when their laying on a piece of paper rather then hanging in the air.

I can tell you from my own expo(because ive done both) that drying on a flat surface or hanging there is no difference( for me). And Curing is absoulutey that easy. Make sure your weed is dry, then store in a jar/air it out everyday/ thats it.The longer in the jar the more it cures.If hanging is easyier for you then bye all beens hang them. But for me putting my trimmed buds in a open cardboard box/newspaper/small fan gives me the simplest dry set up. Also Im not here to dispute anybodys methods, Im just talking from my own experience.

You didnt mention the burping them at all when you said put it in the jars then take to smoke earlier, thats a very important part, moldy buds suck......

So, once the buds are dry and you put them in an air tight jar (like say a mason jar)... do you use a vacuum pump to "burp" the jar? Or do you just leave them in there and only open the jar every so often for a period of time? I've never made it all the way to cure but this time looks like I will.

Yes but open them for about 5 min or so and move the buds around some then close it back

open the jar take the buds out then put them back in, this is an effective way of burping and also the same time moving buds around
