Think of the outdoor grows capable in SE Texas if it did happen... perfect/slightly acidic soil, pretty intense light, cooler around all the trees... :hump:
that was my dream when i moved to texas 20 years ago. great place to grow Sativas. instead I'm forced to use a closet and spend money for light

Lets be realistic.. legal in texas?? i dont think so.. lets just hope that the punishment goes down to a hundred dollar ticket if pulled over with a couple g's here in texas insted of jail for the night... check out norml on the texas marijuana news.

Be careful what you wish for. We may have that one issue out here, and great weather, but this state is BY FAR the most fucked up, mismanaged clusterfuck out of all 50 states!

What do you mean by "lets hope the punishment goes down to a hundred dollars a ticket?"

Have you ever heard of House Bill 2319?

House Bill 2319 passed both the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas Senate with little opposition. The bill allows for arresting officers to issue citations for certain non-violent misdemeanors such as Class A and B misdemeanor possession of marijuana rather than immediately arresting the individual and taking them to jail. A Class A misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana is for amounts between 2 and 4 ounces while a Class B misdemeanor charge is for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

That was a couple years ago in 2007, and yes we have come along way since then.

:peace:

I'm here to stay and can't see it happening any time soon...think gambling will get the nod long before MJ is legal. Hell took them years to be okay with lottery. On the upside getting pinched is no big deal anymore, max is 3 to 4 hours to see a judge, ROR bond (worse part is they like to impound ur ride which is another $250), get to court, everybody is getting the same $500 fine, a BS "dont do drugs class" (another $90 bones) and 90-180 day probation..pay the fine off and they cut you loose...think we may get to a citation pretty soon, jails are way overcrowded and costs them a grip of change to house all the people...no room for the violent ones

Unfortunately, I think Texas will be one of the last states to legalize mmj, along with Louisiana.
Im surprised Louisianna hasnt legalized it yet. They have always been the rebelious state. They were the last ones to change the legal drinking age to 21, and they only did that because they needed federal funding for highways. The federal government refused them money until they changed the drinking age to 21, so finally they complied. Their highways still suck. (no offense louisiana)

And Texas, well if you all sit at home and do nothing about it, then you're right.
So get your arse involved

Seriously guys, your involvement will help/ Good Luck

BUt who are we supposed to contact the local reps. or the gov.

Another session of debates about the pros/cons of DECRIMINALIZING NOT LEGALIZING is not far off. It wont happen becaue anyone thins its a good thing to do, just way too many courts are backloggged and probation system is flooded with serious felons to have to deal with the amazing amount of non violent misdemeanor who are doing their 20-90 days on paper for possession on a roach...Just for kicks and grin called them about getting "tax stamp"...had a good laugh cauze the guy on the phone actually said YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS bongsmilie

but what law officers do you know that will let you walk when pulled over with an quarter of some dank in texas.. maybe in austin but in houston your fucked.

dude.. if the officer wants to be cool he can just cite you but 9 out of 10 time you are going to jail, and that is just about anywhere in the lone star state! i got stopped walking to my car by a narc unit last year and all i had on me was less than a 8th and i was posted up in a cell for 8 hours and then they just cut me loose and didnt say a word about it. i was shocked. but TX sucks when it comes to pot.

The answer is not to leave the state, but to stand and fight.. Yes we are a conservative state, but its conservatism born out of a desire for smaller gov't. Texan's dont like being told how to live, we dont like seatbelt laws, helmet laws, smoking bans, etc. Sadly tho it seems we are missing some of our Historic Texan Fight and Stubborness..
Dont run, take a stand. lets beat these stupid lawmakers like they where Santa anna's army in the San Jacinto valley. our ancestors fought to the death at the Alamo, not over Taxes or Tea but simply because we would not let someone tell us how to live..
Stand up against tyranny even when ithe tryanny is not leveled at you, or there will be no one left to stand up for you when the tryanny arrives on your door step. Polititians only care about one thing, getting re-elected.. so you wanna effect change? scare them. let them know that tokers are voters.
we need a forum listing how all Texas poltians vote on Hemp. from dog catcher to governor.. then make them pay for there votes with their jobs.. polticians are far more afraid of a vocal minority that they are the majority opinion. lets make the forum happen, stand up for what we believe in, an remember the Alamo evrytime a politician eyes one of our freedoms.
