When will I know if my clones survived?

I just cloned 5 branches off my plant. its my first time ever trying to clone a plant. When will I know if my clones will make it through the first few weeks of growth? btw I have them under a clone box I made and 2 cfl lights that are 6500k
 
Good luck Chris! I just made my cuttings today aswell. So am wondering the same thing.. I made 3 cuttings for just a practice run to see how they do in this ghetto humidity dome.

I like posting picsclones 004.jpg of my babies lol..
 
i made myown humidity dome too! Its pretty ghetto and I have to clog up all the gracks on the bottom with extra rockwool cubes -_-

Careful humid is important make surrre its at least 80% humid if not buy a real cloner dome for $15 save alot of time
 
Basically if the cuttings look alive and healthy like they are fresh from the plant than your fine. You willk now if they are not getting enough humidity because they will dry out quickly. Once you see roots than you've successfully cloned a plant transplant in growing meduim of choice and treat it like you would a small seedling for the first couple days.
 
Woke up this morning and the clones look vibrant... as if there reaching to the light... didn't think they would react so quick. I took them out for just a second but no roots yet... ill give them 2 or 3 more days.

yep thats what i did.. the dome cost me 5 bucks and the T5 cost me 8 bucks seperately... and it looks like its doing a bang up job :)

It's not a matter of time, when they are ready. You should see roots coming through the Rapid Rooters you are using between 1 and 2 weeks. More roots is a good thing.

Once they are rooted, I put my clones in 16oz party cups with straight FFOF and let them grow up a bit (using CFL's & Flouro's), before I put them under HID.

I have some getting ready right now. After my last crop is dried, I will put them in my 3 X 4 X 7 ft. 400 watt grow box.

Clones will take 1-2 weeks to take hold. I start mine in 16 oz. solo cups. I know when they have taken cause there is new leaf growth. The worst thing you can do to a clone is mess with it. Make sue you have a humidity dome, keep them warm, and keep that light on for at least 18 hours. I take the humidity dome off everyday for a few minutes to give the clones some fresh air. That's it.

I havent lost a clone for a long time, i did loose a few the first 2 times I clones a long time ago......Over the years Ive tried plenty of different methods and am now back to keeping it simple as can be.

Humidity Dome, heating pad, soil in 16 oz party cups and cloning powder......I dont really mist the clones at all I just mist the inside of the dome and they get enough water to survive. ......make them NEED to root by not giving them too much misting seems to be the logic.
 
Yeah, I was reading how long a clone would take to root 2- 3 weeks. When I made the cuttings and placed them in the dome, they were sorta droopy and praying.. today this morning they were vibrant and full of life... reaching for light. hopefully the roots come in a bit faster, maybe a week or so.. but am seeing a positive reaction with this dome, hopefully by the end of this week I will have 30 clones in this dome :)
 
ok so i can have my humidity dome running under a 20/4 cycle??? And I bought super thrive today to help the rooting. 1 clone died, but the rest of the clones are coming back up straight after having a pretty bad slouch. I bought a humidity dome and replaced it with my old one I made. and the carpet in the room is warm so its keeping the dome warm
 
i added supert to my clones. 2 of them were so wilted i thought they died. but after i added super thrive they came back so fast. in 24 hours, 60 percent of both almost dead clones have risen back up to a nice green color. wish i had before and after pictures
