When to use NUTES!

OK! I will make this as fluid of a question as I possibly can.

As I gain more knowledge about growing I have found I need to treat my plants with nitrogen if there is yellowing in the bottom. I need to use Mag/Cal when i start seeing purpling in the stems and yellowing between veins of a plant (for magnes def) water PH adjustments andd so forth.

I would liek to treat my plants before I see symptoms. What is the best way to feed your plants the various nutrients before you see signs of your plants needing them.

Like for example...should I once a month put some 7-9-5 in my water ...should i be using Mag/Cal every watering since I am using reverse osmosis? I am quite unclear on how to properally administer nutes....let me know if i can be more clearer on what I am asking...Thanks again yall!

Im assuming your planning a soil grow so just keep your ph in check, use a good soil, and use a good, complete fert like jacks or read up on teas that compliment your soil. No need to get fancy in a soil grow

It is a good idea to keep a journal so that you can use the experience from previous crops to inform you when to start looking for problems. Even better is to know when problems occurred in previous crops so that you can apply nutrients before signs of deficiencies appear. As to what nutrients to feed when it is assumed that you are following a particular feeding program or philosophy. If this is so then that feeding program or philosophy should give you the information that you seek. If you do not have a feeding program or gardening philosophy to guide you then for God sakes man get one immediatly. Best of luck on your nutrient adventure, Prof Snook

Generally speaking you don't use nutes forthe first 3 weekss then start with vegging nutes. when you switch to 12/12 use flowering nutes. Feed every other watering and you should be ok.

Get away from the RO'd water until you get some experience. It's completely stripped of the micro- nutrients that you're having trouble with.
I always run my veg nutes for about 2 wks after 12/12 or until the stretch is pretty much over with. They go thru a massive growth spurt and need the nitrogen of the veg nutes as most flower nutes are lacking this. jmo
